    Viewed Webisode Two: Riding In Cars With Kids. I have four kids, and I truly agree with you that you are not responsible for being an entertainment center for your kids 24/7. Self-play and self-entertainment is crucial to a child’s development. 11 hours in the car! Yikes.

    Viewed Webisode 1! Mom Most Traveled in Vientiane, Laos. I enjoy yout enthusiasm for foreign places, and I love how you equate shopping with “sport”. I love it. It’s like going to a yard sale and bargaining.

    I don’t have set snacks- we go in and create by what we have..
    my husband likes pb and celery but no one else likes it- they would rather have celery dipped in a yugurt mix..

    but the favorite I think is creating smoothies by what fruit and whats extra

    I do not know how healthy they are, but I love Cascadian Farm granola bars. They at least have fiber to them.

    I watched and commented on Webisode 2: Riding in Cards with Kids. Very good advice! We have made frequent 1-3 hour car trips with our kids but only once have we had the opportunity to take a 6 hour car trip. Back then we only had 2 kids. We weren’t equipped with tv or dvd’s and I probably did as you did - pack lots of fun things, especially including some new items, and ration them out.

    Healthy Snack for Summer Time. We take decorative ice cube trays and fill them with yogurt and popcycle sticks (from our craft drawer) and freeze them. So much healthier than some of the popcycles out there and I don’t mind if the kids ask for another.

    I like to eat lots of fruits as a snack. Usually I stock up on bananas, tangerines, grapes, etc. I’m not much of a veggie person but I will, at times, buy some & make a little ranch dip to mask the “veggie” taste.

    My healthy snack idea is to wash and cut up fresh veggies and leave them on a platter at the FRONT of the refrigerator. That way, the first thing you see is likely to be the first thing you grab!

    peanut butter on bananas is very tasty and healthy for those who can eat peanut butter. My teenage daughters eat dry cereal brought from home in a baggie to eat during classes—very nutritious especially if it is Kashi or Special K or MiniWheats or any other healthy cereal.

    I think my children & I would like these new Yoplaits, especially the blueberry. My other favorite healthy snack is actually quite simple…Fruit. My kids love to come home & just have sliced strawberries or apples. A handful of raisins is always good too!
