I saw this sign at the water park entrance in Vientiane, Laos and I thought it was humorous in its (very necessary) attention to detail:
![]()
It says: Allowed in Waterpark: swimming suit, aerobic suit shorts or long tights, body suit, t-shirts.
NOT ALLOWED IN POOLS OR SLIDES: Babies must wear swim suit. No diapers allowed. (I think this probably means don’t just let your baby swim in a diaper with no other clothes on). Boxer & Underwear (I for one am thankful for this rule; you wouldn’t not believe how many people try to swim in undies - sans swim suit - at the local health club. GROSS!), Mask & flippers, Surf board (could be dangerous on the water slides), Saree, Jubah (apparently people try to “swim” wearing a burka), Lao Traditional Attire (this makes me laugh because Lao Traditional Attire is dry clean only anyway (silk!). But I guess they had to make this rule for a reason…), Jackets/ Long or short pants jean, Shorts with button and zip (front and behind), Track top & bottom, slippers & shoes, Sweat pant (do not want to see that wet, thanks!), Socks, floats, glasses and jewelry, watches.
Any questions?

Yes, very thankful for no diapers (have you ever gotten one of those wet?) & undies.

Funny how we have to be so specific on some things that seem like common sense! A magical WW to you!

Hey, it sometimes pays to be thorough.
That cracked me up! You really need a weekly series of signs us Americans would find humorous!

Ha ha, I love to read foreign signs. Sometimes they’re really funny, especially with the accompanying pictures.

I’m so glad you took the photo. Great detail. The funny things is that I’ll bet there are still people who aren’t sure what is allowed.

Wow, I think they covered everything! Not sure the Speedo photo was necessary, he needs a little more coverage there.

And I really want them! Been trying to load the page ALL DAY! Glad you are having a successful giveaway though. Also swimming in a Burka must be suicide!

That’s funny. I’ve seen my fair share of weird attire at the water park. One time we went to one in PA and the woman was walking out of one of the water slides in her LACE BRA. No joke, her jean shorts and white lace bra.

Thats Hilarious!
Looking forward to checking in on you again soon!!

Sorry I’m so late in replying, but when I read this I was dying!!! I shared it with Chris and we were laughing so hard about the sweat pants and the Burka. Thanks for lightening the mood here last night.

But apparently there is a form of modest all-in-one swimming atire for Muslim ladies that normally wear a burka.

Very interesting picture! I have a question, though–something I never thought of before–how was silk cleaned before dry-cleaning was available?
