Wordless Wednesday: Street Food in Laos

This week in Vientiane is the annual Boat Racing Festival. We went to the river front today and stayed only long enough to purchase some tasty snacks.

It was just too hot with a CRUSH of people to hang around!

DRiceStick

One of the toddler-friendly snacks we picked up is one of my personal favorites, grilled, seasoned sticky rice on a stick. Deeds is a fan!

Sticky rice is delicious! It is the staple of life in Laos. If you are interested in learning how to cook sticky rice (the steamed version, not the grilled on-a-stick), I found a tutorial here!

Thanks for the link-I love sticky rice! I ate a lot of it when I used to spend weeks at a time in Asia - and lots of grilled or fried things on sticks ;)

ooo I so need to try out the recipe…and figure out how to put it on a stick. That would be a hit in our house! Feel free to visit my WW and check out the big jellyfish we found on the beach during our vacation in France.
