Wordless Wednesday: My Bathroom is Sad

Behold, our bathroom. Note: not air conditioned. Also: shower next to the toilet with no shower curtain or any kind of division in the floor to keep the water from going anywhere. Genius design brought to you by: developing nation, inc.

Currently a growing trend in the USA, you saw it here first, folks: the tank less water heater:

Since the bathroom window is open to the outside world, it gets pretty hot in there. My husband was inspired by a local restaurant and installed a fan above the bathroom door so that it points to the person sitting on the “throne”, ifyouknowwhatImean. I love it:

Certainly puts creativity to the test. Glass always half-full!

That looks like a lot of the old-style Israeli bathrooms, especially the glass shutters in the window and the shower open to the rest of the bathroom (do you use squeegees to push the water into the drain too?). Thankfully bathrooms like that are mainly found in old, unrenovated apartments these days.

It must be very enjoyable sitting on the throne with that electric fan. Happy WW! :D

    Holy crapper! Hehe…

Hey, the fan is pure genius. That is just not the room for stagnet heat. I’ll stop there. :)

Very interesting bathroom! I wondered what the tankless water heater was about.

We had a bathroom similar to this in Thailand, I could never leave toilet paper anywhere near the toilet . . . Does your floor dip in the middle of the bathroom, so all the water goes that direction?

When I visited Japan a friend of mine had a bathroom just like this, it was about the weirdest thing I ever experienced showering in there. It just felt bizarre with no curtain and water spraying everywhere. Not to mention figuring out how to use the water heater! It has to be easy to clean though, just wash everything and spray it down, like a car wash :P

I suppose that the fan allows you to sit and ponder about things longer while doing business. Glad that your hubby was able to get it in there.

I imagine western toilet is a good thing, though… I don’t think I could squat that much.

The house I grew up in Hawaii didn’t have air conditioning and had those louvered glass windows. I used to have to dust them. Ugh. And nothing ever dries.

“Developing Nation, Inc.” That is too funny!

Gotta love those bathrooms by Developing Country Inc! At least it isn’t a squatter. I learned quickly in Jakarta to pass on that second cup of coffee in the morning if I had to run errands later. I really hate squatter toilets.
