Treasury of 50 Storybook Classics: Animal Antics… and More! is specialized collection from Scholastic Storybook Treasures, all about animal adventures!
Some of these stories have been a part of previous Scholastic Storybook Treasures sets, but if you are just starting your collection or you have an animal fan that could benefit from some quality children’s literature on DVD, this is a great one!
You get 7 DVD’s, over 8 hours of high quality children’s storytelling, which includes all of these titles:

Angus Lost
Antarctic Antics (I just read this book to Deeds as a bed time story…I have to say I prefer the musical accompanment on the DVD version than trying to remember how to put the poems to music on my own. He actually cut me off after 3 pages, the little…)
Arnie The Doughnut (Written and illustrated by Laurie Keller, narrated by Michael McKean, Diana Canova, and David de Vries) will spark your imagination as you wonder, “What other delicious things have personalities?”
Bark George
Bear Snores On
The Beast Of Monsieur Racine, (Written and illustrated by Tomi Ungerer) caught my attention, as I wondered what the strange looking “beast” would turn out to be!
A Boy, a Dog, and a Frog
Caps for Sale
Cat and Canary
The Caterpillar and the Polliwog
Chicken Little
Chrysanthemum
Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type
Come on Rain
The Cow Who Fell in the Canal
Dot the Fire Dog
Giving Thanks: A Native American Good Morning Message
Harry the Dirty Dog
The Hat
He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands uses beautiful landscapes and warm images of a boy and his family as a backdrop for a folk song.
Hondo & Fabian
Hot Hippo
I Stink! (Written by Kate McMullan, illustrated by Jim McMullan, and narrated by Andy Richter), which follows a New York City garbage truck (with personality) on his nightly rounds.
I Want a Dog
I, Crocodile
In the Small, Small Pond
Let’s Give Kitty a Bath!
The Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Gray Bridge
Make Way for Ducklings
Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel
Mouse Around
No Roses for Harry!
Officer Buckle and Gloria is one of my favorite stories! We have the book and this animation really brings Gloria, the police dog, to life!
Owen
Owl Moon
Patrick
The Remarkable Riderless Runaway Tricycle
The Story About Ping
The Tale of the Mandarin Ducks
Trashy Town
The Ugly Duckling
Waiting for Wings
A Weekend with Wendel
Wings: A Tale of Two Chickens

And Spanish Versions of…
The Caterpillar and the Polliwog
Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type
Harry the Dirty Dog
Make Way For Ducklings
Owen

I have many favorites in this collection, and I held back on making notes about each one for fear that no one would read this far. I know how you guys are.

I watched an incredibly intense psychological drama by Soloviev (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094683/) when I was 7. It was an incredibly sad movie, too. Anyway, 22 years later it remains my most favourite movie.
