I am a big fan of A Toy Garden; this online toy store has unique children’s items that I haven’t seen anywhere else.
Many of them are made in the USA, or Fair Trade!
I also love that many of the toys are Waldorf or Montessori inspired.
These toys are beyond the realm of the mass produced. I appreciate that.
A Toy Garden has a great selection of toys appropriate for traveling; again, you won’t find your typical travel games; A Toy Garden full of the spice of variety!
On our recent trip to Thailand, we drove over 11 hours straight to get to our destination.
We made it all the way with no portable DVD’s, no video games, no screen time! You can do it!
Two great toys from A Toy Garden helped make our trip more pleasant.
Jojo enjoyed a fantastic Magnetic On-The-Go Puzzle, which transports neatly in it’s own tin container.
This is a unique set of 4 wooden mini puzzles with magnetic strips on the back of each piece.
Your child has the option of solving the four individual
puzzles, or using the pieces to create his or her own picture scenes!
The Magnetic On-The-Go Puzzle set is made in Germany, and the wooden puzzle pieces are stained with non-toxic dyes.
Deeds played with his adorable set of three Wild Animal Finger Puppets.
These are made from wool and are completely adorable!
They are made to fit a child or adult.
Wild Animal Finger Puppets are fair trade, and once you hold them you can really feel the quality. I really loves these! I would show pictures of myself playing with them, but I think Deeds is cuter.
Here is a video of Deeds playing away with his finger puppets!

If you have a toddler and you don’t yet have a set of finger puppets in your repertoire, please get some!
Finger puppets have been in my travel must-haves list for many journeys.
They take up hardly any room in your bag and are such a great distraction when little ones start to get antsy. We even used them to keep Jojo in the hospital bed when he was 15 months old with food poisoning in Thailand.

I have spent hours (not all in the same day) browsing all of the neat items at AToyGarden.com!
Have fun over there! Check out the fun travel toys or see if you can find some sweet Valentine’s treasures!

Very nice. The pictures made me think of Montessori & you said that they are Montessori inspired. I’ll check them out! Thank you.

Great photos and video! I will be looking into the company.
Yes, we too take long car trips and have nothing high tech, yet somehow my kids make it through every time.
I never understood the “need” for DVDs in vehicles. Maybe I am old school? I adore the finger puppets!
