We used to have a Noah’s Ark toy that I thought was a little incomplete…it only had 3 pairs of random animals.
I ended up selling it at our Great Purge 2009 last spring, because I felt my kids had outgrown it’s babyishness.
Gratefully, we received a sample of Tier Toys Animal Stackers - Noah’s Ark Set.
The Noah’s Ark Set is quite an impressive toy: it is a puzzle, playset, and storage container all in one!
This Noah’s Ark Set from Tier Toys has 44 figures (that’s 22 pairs to go two-by-two), and 12 different levels than can be stacked up and taken apart.
The figures include Mr. and Mrs. Noah, snakes, rhinos, camels, chickens, rabbits, elephants, horses, kangaroos, birds, some really interesting primates, and other animal faves.
A few animals are stored on each level in specially molded compartments.
It is cute the way the animals fit inside. Pairs are stored on the same level but I didn’t notice any other kind of grouping or classification method to what pairs end up sharing a level.
For example, frogs and ostriches are stored together, and pigs and snakes share a level.
I think it would have been cool to take it the extra mile and have options for sorting by color or habitat or some other grouping strategy.
Aside from that nit-picky teacher observation, I declare Noah’s Ark Set a winner because my 5 year old LOVES toys with lots of parts. The reason I DON’T typically love toys with lots of parts is that the pieces get strewn about, lost, and are hard to keep track of.
With Noah’s Ark Set, the clean-up (stacking and sorting) is part of the game, so everything is tidily stored. Win!
Tier Toys has other stacker play sets. I think JoJo would love the Knight’s Castle. There are also Barn Yard, Dog House, Little Princess Castle, Sea X-Plorer, and Monster Truck designs, so just follow your child’s interest!
Each set has great appeal for children three and older. Use the play set for imaginative play (with lots of great props included right in the set!), or embrace the challenge of sorting, stacking, puzzling and storing.
