Tickle Me Plant (giveaway!)

Have you ever seen a plant that is responsive to touch?
We got to play with some one day and Jojo was absolutely entranced as he repeatedly stuck a thin blade of grass onto the plant’s leaves, watched it contract, then waited for it to open again so that the entire scene could be repeated!

I thought it was neat when I discovered that these plants are even sold in cute little growing kits; what a fun project for the kids!

I am an amazing plant. I will quickly move when you TickleMe. I am a great gift for growing scientists of all ages. I will even fold up and go to sleep at night! I can start growing in days. Thank you for raising your own pet TickleMe Plant. A portion of all sales will go to help save the Rain Forests.

We got the TickleMe Plant Mini House (which is a great party favor idea!) that includes a TickleMe Plant Seed packet (Mimosa pudica), 1 Min-House, 1 plastic mini flower pot, and 1 soil pellet.

Jojo has a real affinity for gardening, and I think he is going to have a great time with this little project.

I’m not sure if I should tell him that THIS is a plant that you can TICKLE until after it starts growing. The anticipation might be too much for his 4 1/2 year old mind!

TickleMePlant.com also has seeds, larger grow kits, and other accessories available for purchase.

I like the idea of using the TickleMe Plant Mini House as a party favor, or maybe the classroom pack would be a fun way to do some kind of Earth-focus with a school or a scout troop.

Would you like to win a TickleMe Plant Mini House to try for yourself?

This is going to be a TWENTY FIVE HOUR GIVEAWAY! You only have one day to enter!

1) To enter, simply leave a comment telling my why you want your own TickleMe Plant Mini House. Easy, no?

*GIVEAWAY CLOSED! Winner is….Pamela S!*

One winner will be chosen at random.

This giveaway is open to US residents except Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands (sorry!).

This contest will close on May 6, NOON CST!

Don’t forget to visit the giveaway carnival for many more amazing giveaways this week!

I must confess that I’m just as fascinated with the TickleMe Plant as I think all the children in the neighborhood will be. If it really grows well we could end up with a TickleMe Plant community. I remember growing Pansys and Violets as a child in my parent’s garden but I never had a plant I could tickle. Sounds like lots of fun for kids big and small…if you know what I mean.

I used to have one as a child. Ma has passed and this reminds me of her and her green thumb. I really enjoy the purple “chimney sweep” flowers. And as they grow the thorns seemed to get sharper and the plant was less sensitive to my touch (As we all get as we age).
