It has been over a year since I shared with you some fabulous interior design inspiration for your child’s room.
Since that time, we have moved to a smaller and more manageable living space. Now I am working on a room for Jojo and Deeds that I am actually excited about!
Here is the transformation, still awaiting wall art.
Come on in!

Mr. Kitty welcomes you! He was picked up at a weekend market in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The yellow canopy tent is from our trip to Bali. The rug is made from fabric remnants from a local textile mill. Nick made the low shelves, and bought the floating shelves from a hardware store.

The curtains I ordered were called “sage”, but they turned out to be what I would call “forest”. They are blackout curtains to help the boys sleep in. The dollhouse is by Viola toys and was a gift last Christmas.

Toys and books! The crocodile is sitting on a basket from the Ubud region of Bali. It holds costumes.

The boys sleep on bunk beds that we took apart. I got them matching hotel-esque comforters from the Chinese market. Jojo is proud of his Star Wars sheets and Deeds likes cats. We got the pagoda shelves pre-kids. Right now they hold Deeds’s clothes.
I purged lots of stuffed toys last year so that they would all fit in our “pet net” (a throwback to the 1980’s!).

That is such a gorgeous bedroom. I love the shelves and the yellow tent. And of course I’m interested in the reclaimed fabric rug. Who made it?

I don’t know exactly who made the rug, but we bought it off of the back of a truck that parks near a bakery we frequent. We got the big rug and 6 welcome mat-sized ones.
They are made of what feels like t-shirt scraps.
