The boys and I went to have our hair washed today. It was $1.20 for me, and 60 cents each for them.

The awesome hair stylin’ is complimentary.
Jobes looked handsome.

Deeds got a wet shirt.

Jobes said that I looked “like a DJ”.
He didn’t know how to express “from the 1980’s”

Look at that height! Thanks, hair lady!

WW: Christmas Gifts On A Budget (The Economy Is Down)

I heard a rumor that the economy is bad. Out of respect and necessity, I decided to ignore Christmas, but it just wouldn’t go away.
So today I went and bought an artificial tree. It was the floor model, and 30% off. I guess the store was getting nervous that it wasn’t going to happen for [...]

WW: What I Wore: Patriotic Edition

I actually went to a bonafide social event on the 4th of July with real peers and friends my own age, so I wore clean clothes and fancy shoes.
AND I totally contributed these strawberry cake rolls with Red Vines stuck in them, an original idea I conceived and pitched as “firecrackers”.

I made my friend Jessica [...]

Could you find me in a box?

Would you? Could you? With no socks?

Could you find me here or there?

I would find you anywhere!
Deeds now “covers his eyes” by actually covering his mouth.
Not very effective for hide-and-seek, but darn cute!

Little Deeds and I had an adventure this morning. I think all of this transpired before 7:30 am.

A ride to the local coffee shop, clutching a choking-hazard sized pink Easter egg he connected with for some reason.

This coffee shop has a swing set in the courtyard. It is a lifesaver. I come here just for [...]

WW: Sweeping In China

Today’s photo comes from a 2006 trip to China.
Jojo was 18-months-old and seriously obsessed with sweeping.
I wrestled brooms away from him in hotel lobbies, off of the maid’s cart in airports; he had uncanny broom detection skills.
Every morning would begin with us going outside at the break of dawn (not exaggerating), Jojo grabbing a broom [...]

Several months ago, I shared pictures of my sad bathroom on WW.
Today, I want to allow you to behold the majesty that is our MASTER bathroom. Feel free to use any of the multitude of luxurious features in your own living space.
Pay attention to these fabulous design elements: window, open to the outside world…

I think it was the day after Christmas; we decided to get the kids suited up and check out the “new” (three year old) water park that we have never visited.
I pulled out the camera to capture the boys in their swimming gear before we left, and all of a sudden Jojo starts posing. [...]

Jojo and Deeds being welcomed into our favorite jiaozi shop in Vientiane.

A weird sign from the water park in Vientiane, Laos.

This is a giant poster that I bought in Beijing and framed.
It is a reproduction of a vintage ad for bug spray. I love that it is two pretty, smiling girls surrounded by dead insects. Those spots on the wall paper are upside down, dead bugs.

This is a can of sweetened condensed milk from China.
I [...]
