LeapFrog Rockin’ Guitar and Touch Magic Learning Bus

My kids are SO into music and “performing”. Any time I see a music related toy, I automatically think, “Oh, Jojo would love this!”

I was lucky enough to be a host of the LeapFrog Touch Magic Rock ‘n Learn party, which meant checking out cool toys from one of my favorite brands. We were sent the LeapFrog Touch Magic Learning Bus and two LeapFrog Touch Magic Rockin’ Guitars!

These toys are kind of a new generation…the Touch Magic is pretty neat: the surface is flat and wipeable, yet each part of the toy is responsive to touch.

The LeapFrog Touch Magic Learning Bus has lots of different songs, plus a keyboard and percussion element! Of course you can also press each letter and learn about letter recognition and sounds.

You might have guessed that the LeapFrog Touch Magic Rockin’ Guitar has songs on it, but my favorite feature is that your child can control the tempo of the song by strumming faster or more slowly.

When I say “your child can control the tempo” I really mean “I amused myself for hours by strumming the LeapFrog Touch Magic Rockin’ Guitar as fast as I possibly could whilst kids looked on jealously”.

We know how to rock.

Xia-Xia Pets Hot Collectable Toys #XiaXia

New awesome toy alert! And like all cool new toys…there are many. To collect.

Get ready, Mommies.

Xia-Xia Pets are colorful, collectible creatures combine the loveable charm of a real hermit crab but add a twist of imagination.

Plus, lets be honest, Xia-Xia Pets are way cuter and less needy than hermit crabs. Also? They aren’t crabs. They are toys.

Each Xia-Xia comes with a candy colored shell in which kids can find a teeny tiny collectable passenger friend hidden inside.

Being hermit crab-ish, you can take their shells of, and you can also buy extra shells, each containing TWO little friends.

Xia-Xia Pets are cool in and of themselves, but you an also get colorful playsets which are very Carnivale meets Ocean Floor.

Xia-Xia Pets are brand new in stores this October, so snatch them up for Christmas!

Through Mom Select I got to host a Xia-Xia Pets playdate!

The pictures look cute, but Xia-Xia Pets are even more captivating in person. You push a button on the claw and they skuttle around like wee crabs.

I mean, c’mon! Adorbs!

Xia-Xia Pets are primarily marketed to girls ages 4 and older, but my boys found characters that they liked.

Plus, my kids are obsessed with tiny things, which makes the little “bonus friends” in the shells very covetable.

@HexBug Halloween Party, Now With Zombies! #HEXBUGHalloween

Jojo had his 7th birthday party this weekend, and thanks to an awesome party opportunity from Mom Select, he had a super cool Hexbug party!

We actually called it a “Bugday Party” on the invitaiton. We are dorks.

Hexbugs are robotic insects, so in lieu of a birthday cake, I made super cute robot cupcakes, topped with Robot Cupcake Toppers by hello hanna.

The toppers come on a sheet like stickers, and are the consistency of a steam-rolled piece of gum. (I guess). They are gluten free and dairy free.

Just peel them off and plop them on top of your home made cupcakes (I’m awesome).

The party guests were excited that you could “eat the paper”. It is nothing like paper, actually, but they were first graders, so stop being all judgey.

Anyway, what else do you do at a ZOMBIE HEXBUG BUGDAY PARTY?

Well, you play with super cool Hexbug Nano Glow in the Dark Habitat Set!

It glows in the dark, upping the awesome!

The party guests happily closed themselves into the play room, turned out the lights, and squealed and giggled at the glow-in-the-dark Hexbug action! When it was time to go home, nobody wanted to leave!

And nobody lost an eye! All in all, an extremely successful party!

This set allows you to create a variety of customizable playgrounds and includes 10 easy to connect pieces and 2 extremely rare Hexbug Nano Glow-in-the-Dark Micro-Robotic Creatures.

Each party guest got to have their very own limited edition HexBug Nano Halloween Mutant Zombie!

Which led to enthusiastic participation in a game of Zombie Freeze Tag! Look at their little Zombie-like arms, bless ‘em!

Speaking of all things creepy, the Hexbug crawly that grosses me out the most is the uber undulating Hexbug Larva!

Ugh! I know in my mind that it is plastic, but it just writhes so convincingly I have to psyche myself up in order to touch it. The cats aren’t too sure about them, either.

And, I also got to high five Hexbugs at Time To Play Holiday Showcase in September, where they made me hip to their cute Zombie bugs and holiday ornaments!

Look at the lil’ dickens! So adorbs!

Jojo was playing with his Hexbug and some action figures at the same time. A happy coincidence happened when the Hexbug got stuck in the action figure’s feet, propelling him forward in a hilariously zombie-like fashion.

I LOVE Hexbugs so much! We were lucky enough to host a Hexbug Nano party LAST year, which made me aware of the awesomeness. I gave Hexbugs as gifts at EVERY SINGLE birthday party that my kids have been invited to in the last 12 months. That is a lot of Hexbug love we are spreading accross this great land.

We were initiated into the world of DaGeDar with an awesome party kit from Mom Select! All of the kids loved racing their DaGeDar balls on the DaGeDar Supercharged Ball Bearing Toy Track Set High Speed Stunt Jump Track.

The track has two channels, so that you can race your DaGeDar balls! All of the guests enjoyed racing, but it was particularly exciting for the 6 and 7-year-old boys in attendance.

The older kids were also excited by the “collectable” aspect of the DaGeDar pieces. There are bunches of different designs, and each set comes with display rings and a check list so that you can see what else is out there to collect!

Quest for Zhu DVD Premier September 27

Through MomSelect, we got an advanced look at the Quest for Zhu DVD that is due for release on September 27th.

We had a little exclusive preview ZhuZhu Pets: Quest for Zhu party, with Twizzlers and dancing!

All of the kids REALLY loved the songs! The film features Zhu Zhu pets versions of “ABC” and “Celebrate”; the kids insisted that we watch them several times, consecutively. I was really pleased by how much the guests enjoyed the Zhu Zhu music.

In fact, this movie exceeded my expectations.

I took video of their sweet dance moves, but I have been given strict orders to keep it under wraps until the movie debut on September 27th!

Weight Watchers Frozen Treats

Weight Watchers Ice Cream has great options for snacking…I am a snacker. I also can hardly rest without eating something sweet after a meal.

070640004690 I like that there are the Weight Watchers Strawberry Smoothie Bar and Weight Watchers Strawberry Fruit Bar, made with real fruit, yet feels like dessert. Tastes healthy yet indulgent at the same time.

The Weight Watchers Ice Cream products I received to sample are all 120 calories or less – three of them are 80 calories or less.
