Keeping Fit For Busy Moms #Giveaway

Exercise is very important to me, but I’m always “on the go” and always short on time! This summer I even managed to injure my knee by running on a treadmill wearing unsupportive casual shoes instead of my awesome runners.

So, I’m not as young as I used to be. My knee was swollen for a week. So now I’m more careful, and I gear up with Men’s & Women’s Athletic Recovery Socks and a Wellgate Ultra Knee Support brace.

Speaking of getting old (I’m not looking at you! Just relax), if you are interested in exercise clothes that you don’t have to be a bikini model to look good in, I love my Marika Tek Short Sleeve V-Neck Dry Wik Tee. It looks like a normal t-shirt but its made of special space fabric for when you get sweaty (or…when you “glisten”, for the ladies).

The brace and socks are by Ames Walker, and they are heaps better quality than the cheap brace and support I bought at a giant sporting goods store. The Wellgate Ultra Knee Support is thin enough to wear under skinny jeans. I know! I love it.

Do you know that it is actually kind of difficult to pack your yoga stuff for travel? I am in love with my travel yoga bag from ActiveWearUsa.com. It is called the Yoga Bag by Yogoco – Key Lime Pie, and it has two different compartments, one for the yoga mat, and one for all of your stuff!

You can fit a LOT in this bag, including a yoga towel, shirt, water bottle, change of clothes, whatever you need. Its great for classes, and I would use it for an overnight bag, too!

When I don’t have time to go to a class, I like to work out with DVD’s. Pulse Yoga is a combination of yoga moves and, yes, small pulses. Example, see in that picture they are on one leg? They probably gently bend the knee a little deeper for about 20-30 seconds, at a tempo.

Trust me, you will feel the burn after holding those positions! http://www.pulseyoga.com/

My favorite of the series is the quick, 30 minutes routines.

Brand new from Lionsgate, Denise Austin: Sculpt & Burn Body Blitz is a 50 minute workout divided into warm-up, mixed martial arts, athletic conditioning, kettlebell inspired moves (done with a small dumbell, no kettlebell required), cardio sculpt, and cool down.

Also new is Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition: The Workout; what I love about this DVD is that it is three workouts, levels 1, 2, and 3, and the fitness models are actual success stories from the show!

Rachel lost 161 pounds, LaRhonda lost 202 pounds, and Alex lost 216 pounds over the course of one year with guidance from trainer Christ Powell.
