StyleUnited.com is a fun website that kind of gives me the feeling of having savvy virtual girlfriends to help me choose skincare, haircare, cosmetics, and fashion pieces that are right for my body and match my sense of style.

I signed up to try the new site and I know I will be going there again and again. Unless a bunch of fashion design students and professional make up artists become my besties. Which could happen.

There are How-To videos in the Tips and Trends section…I really needed this one about How To Apply Smudge Proof Mascara! What about the age old conundrum, What to Wear to a Wedding?

StyleUnited features hundreds of articles, slideshows, blog posts and how-to videos from P&G and industry experts, including influential stylists, bloggers and online editors.

I took a quiz in Style 360 and found that my fashion look is EDGY AND BOLD with a hint of FLIRTY ROMANTIC. Then I got to look at styles that I might like based on my quiz results. It was pretty fun!

On Friday, April 13th, I got my glam on at Duane Reade on 40 Wall Street! I got a Mini Makeover, manicure, and eyebrow shaping all in the LOOK Boutique!

The LOOK Boutique is a great place to get a manicure! It is only $7 to get a nail polish change! That is crazy cheap!

Solo Fashion Show: Banana Republic Edition

I have evolved as a woman to where I now actually enjoy clothes shopping. Sometimes.

When I go alone I like to take photos of myself in the fitting room, because then I can tell how something will really look in a photo, vs the magic fitting room mirror.

This was from last week at Banana Republic.

Sandal Weather Ready With My @KalsoEarthShoes !

This is my first Yankee Winter and I can’t WAIT to wear sandals again.

Since I am a grown-up now, and I resolve to dress like one, I’m inspired to have a ”New Year, New Wardrobe, New Earth”.

Monday Mingle: Fort Greene Edition

I wasn’t really Werkin It this week but I did get my nails done on Thursday (yay).

This picture is my weekend casual up in Fort Greene, but I think the real interest is the colors in this store window.

You might recognize the LOFT dress from the Mom’s Fashion File party last August. I winterized it with a sweater and Banana Republic tights that were on super clearance for like 97 cent down from $15, go me!

I was also given a sample of patent-pending Sh?ToBu shapewear tights that smooth body contours and tone muscles, and have even been tested to burn additional calories when worn. How do you like them apples?

I am pleased with the Sh?ToBu tights as shapewear, and bonus, just wearing them is like getting a little workout? I’m in.

Nicole at MomTrends.com had a fun fashion week experience where she got to Strut on the runway along with fellow mom bloggers. Fierce!

Stuff I Wore In Brooklyn

Firstly let me preface this by saying that I am freezing and unemployed here in New York. I’m eating well and I’m sufficiently entertained, but I could still be grumpy so don’t cross me.

Don’t. Cross. Me.

This past week’s adventures were a roller coaster of firsts.

MONDAY:

My first time eating vegan cheese…in Park Slope (while wearing a dress from the new Brooklyn Industries spring collection, no less).

The vegan cheese felt like silly putty. The dress smelled like fashion.

Notice my awesome new watch in both photos? That would be one that I designed myself from Modify Watches. I’m just that awesome.

TUESDAY:

My first time being laid off (anybody in NYC need a Social Media Maven or Digital Strategist?).

My first time cooking with a chef from the US Virgin Islands. Oh, and my first time WINNING A TRIP TO US VIRGIN ISLANDS, WOOOOOOO!

I even had Chef Theo autograph some of his Scotch Bonnet pepper sauce for me. I like it. A lot.

WEDNESDAY:

My first encounter with the Philadelphia Flower Show. They had a media preview in NYC to give us the scoop…they made the Eventi Hotel meeting room into a Hawaiian paradise!

You guys should totes go to that, it sounds fun for all ages.
