Vera Wang For #Kohls For Mother’s Day

No matter how you will celebrate Mother’s Day, Simply Vera Vera Wang and Princess Vera Wang have trendy and affordable pieces at Kohl’s for any mom (or daughter).

This season, both lines have striking colors, often including splashes of neon, and accessories that look far more expensive than the actual price tag!

I played around with a trio of Simply Vera Vera Wang and Princess Vera Wang blazers in my office. Thanks, coworker, for indulging me in a photo sesh!

I think I have been forced to be Unapologetically Strong for the last several years. I left an emotionally vacant marriage, left a mentally abusive work situation, and started believing the reality that people would treat me as badly as I let them, and I was in charge of making sure I had the life that I am meant to have.

I’m still on my journey, but I am triumphing over divorce, being laid off, and being lied to. I am saying “no” to passivity, “no” to dwelling on past wrongs, and “yes” to possibility.

Disney Pixar BRAVE OPENS JUNE 22 Movie Review

I was a part of a select audience in a select theatre in an undisclosed location in a select city to get a sneak preview of the new Disney/Pixar movie BRAVE….in 3-D no less.

BRAVE is the story of a Scottish princess, Merida and her struggle to change her fate. Merida is an inspiring heroine with beautiful red hair and skills with a bow and arrow.

After you catch the film, be prepared for your kids to want to shoot a bow and arrow.

BRAVE had all of the elements of other favorite Disney films: a plucky heroine who wants to go her own way, dark magic, a lovable yet misunderstood father figure, comical sidekicks, and scenes that make moms start to get a little misty-eyed.

The movie seemed very fast paced, but even my 4-year-old caught on to some key plot points. When a character was about to make a bad decision, Deeds predicted (out loud) what would happen if they chose the wrong course. Which clued me in that he was following the storyline and not just enamored by the flashing screen.

Kudos to Disney for making films that families can enjoy together.

Besides the novelty of watching BRAVE in 3-D, I really enjoyed the quirky Scottish words and the adorable accent.

Solo Fashion Show: Banana Republic Edition

I have evolved as a woman to where I now actually enjoy clothes shopping. Sometimes.

When I go alone I like to take photos of myself in the fitting room, because then I can tell how something will really look in a photo, vs the magic fitting room mirror.

Five Days of belVita Breakfast @belVita

These are a really fun “on the go” whole grain solution. In 4 Apple Cinnamon flavored belVita biscuits you got 20 grams of whole grain. They contain wheat and soy and do NOT contain dairy or eggs.

I was actually surprised by how much I love the convenience of belVita breakfast biscuits. They are great to pop in your bag and nosh on after a morning run, a bike ride to work, or during your morning commute.
