Holiday Delivery From @CAWineClub

I got my holiday shipment from www.cawineclub.com, and it looks all super festive wrapped in sparkle paper!

My November delivery from California Wine Club was a 2011 Daniel Gehro Chenin Blanc from Santa Barbara County White Hills Vineyard.

It received the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals. Goooooo CHENIN BLANC!

Also in the November delivery was a 2009 Daniel Gehro Merlot from the Central Coast. This guy won the Gold Medal, the Silver Medal, and the DOUBLE GOLD MEDAL. Over achiever wine! This Merlot is all #MERLO #YOLO!

To be real, I didn’t drink them yet. Because I want to have them to present as hostess gifts when I make my holiday rounds. California Wine Club makes it too easy to be awesome, by being super awesome themselves.

PS: It is beautiful here.

BUT! The joy of “stocking the pantry” or really buying anything heavy is greatly diminished when you have to lug it around town and carry it on the subway.

Hence, I am DELIGHTED when I can have something delivered to my door.

Getting a delivery from the California Wine Club always feels like Christmas, but for the holidays they are really stepping it up!

This was my October shipment: a Robledo family winery Tempranillo, and their Bronze Medal Winner Sauvignon Blanc.

The California Wine Club was started by Bruce and Pam Boring because they were tired of hit-or-miss selecting wines to drink. They realized that they always enjoyed the wines recommended by friends. California Wine Club- Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow @cawineclub @boringwineguy

My 3 month membership to California Wine Club has come to an end.

My final shipment contained the California-made 2010 Viognier from Tangent Winery and a 2009 Mourvèdre-Syrah-Grenache blend from Trenza Winery.

Firstly, let me say that if you have a busy life, and you often find it difficult to will yourself to move from your sofa once you get home, that you will probably enjoy having wine delivered to your door once a month.

Also, club members get discounts on the regular market price of all kinds of fine made-in-California wines, usually something like 40% cheaper. I like cheaper.

I haven’t actually cracked these bottles open yet. I have amassed quite a collection in my fridge. I use them to pay babysitters.

And I am becoming spoiled and lazy.

I blame The California Wine Club.

Since May, I have been a member of the Premier Club, getting two bottles of wine each month delivered to my door.

In June, I was the lucky recipient of

A tasty red wine from Titan Hills Vineyards.

The biggest thrill of being a member of the California Wine Club is getting delicious domestic wines sent RIGHT TO MY DOOR every month. Two bottles! Every month!

I can feel kind of classy about that, yet I could also be wearing a robe. In fact, I might be wearing a robe whilst typing this. You never know.

And that is why moms love the internet.

I had just received my shipment and was on my way to share it with my friend Betsey. In my excitement I nearly forgot to take a photo for blog posterity.

California Wines, they’re unforgettable, daisy dukes, bikini on top!

I am fortunate to be test driving a California Wine Club gift membership. As a 3-month member of the Premier Club, I get 2 bottles of wine per month in May, June, and July.

The wines are delivered via FedEx, replete with this advisory:

The wines are expertly packaged in styrofoam tubes. Mine arrived safely. Also in the package was an issue of Uncorked magazine and various promotional materials.

My 3-month Premier Club membership (a $150.00 value) gets me two fabu bottles of wine each month.

I totally prefer this over the “walk of wine shame”. This way I can consume wine in secret. Heh heh.

In May, I got 2 different award winning Kiara wines. The Zinfandel enjoyed with a special someone as a pre-dinner aperitif, and the Carbernet Sauvigmon I bartered with a friend in exchange for a night of babysitting.

Just sayin.

Both of the Kiara wines had stickers on them indicating they were award winning. The Cabernet Sauvignon apparently took top honors by winning both a Silver AND a Bronze, whilst the Zinfandel won a lone silver medal.
