The LeapFrog Tag Reading System is an exciting new learning toy for children ages 4 to 8.
I knew that as soon as Jojo saw the TAG that he would want to play with it immediately, so I made sure it was ready to go!
The TAG comes with a book, Ozzie and Mack, which is preloaded onto the reader. Any additional TAG books must be loaded onto the Tag Reader using the included USB cables, CD, and your home computer.
It took about 30 minutes for the CD-Rom to load onto my computer, but I shouldn’t have to do that more than once. It only took a few seconds to load our other book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom onto the TAG Reader from my computer.
The Learning Path is a program on the CD-Rom that allows you to download education information from the reader to your computer and track your child’s progress. Use it to help customize your child’s unique learning journey and celebrate educational milestones.
The TAG reader is quite amazing!
It has a camera in the tip that identifies words and symbols on the specially printed pages, which unlocks a world of fun!
Here is a video of Jojo experiencing the Tag Reader for the first time.
The Tag Reader can be used to “read” the story to your child, word by word or one page at a time (your child chooses!).
If your child is already a reader, the Tag reader can be used to “read” them just the tricky words they haven’t yet mastered.
Touch the Tag Reader on one of the pictures to hear fun sound effects. Touch the star in the bottom corner of the page, and hear instructions on how to play a special game!
When your child answers game questions correctly, they receive words of praise!
LeapFrog has a great selection of books to use with the TAG. There are classics like The Little Engine That Could and books featuring popular characters, like the Little Mermaid.
The TAG allows children to build phonics skills, and learn new words almost effortlessly.
The Tag reader also has a headphone jack, making it a good option for car trips!
This traveling Mama is sold on this amazing toy!
