Sun Protection Zone
All skin types are susceptible to sun damage, which can mean anything from painful sunburn to melanoma, a deadly form of skin cancer.
My children love to play in the water, but I worry about their exposure to harmful UV radiation, especially when we are in the tropics.
On our recent trip to Thailand, Jojo and Deeds wore their new SunSkinz swimsuits from Sun Protection Zone for the first time.

When Deeds first changed into his SunSkinz suit, we stood next to the pool waiting and drew several exclamations about how “cute” or “cool” he looked.
Deeds was like a little surfer boy! When Jojo emerged and people saw that they were coordinating, they got all kinds of compliments about their cool “surfer” outfits, and lots of parents wanted to know where I got them!
Using the SunSkinz made for a much happier time of preparing to swim than the usual screams and squirms that occur during sun screen application.
With the SunSkinz outfits, we only had to put sunscreen on the exposed areas like their faces, hands, and legs.

What do you think of the adjustable Legionnaire hats? I have found them to be quite handy; Jojo wore his on a recent trip to the zoo.
Deeds was safe under the stroller canopy and I had on my big dorky straw hat.
Jojo’s hair is rather thin and very blonde so I worry about his scalp getting burned.
The adjustable Legionnaire hat is soft and easy to stuff in my purse while not in use. It is light enough that it does not result in “hat head” when you take it off.
I have memories of getting sunburned where my hair was parted when I was a child. Besides being painful, it was also embarrassing when it started to peel and looked like dandruff. I was mortified.

They look great on the boys! I love how they coordinate and can definitely see why they got so much attention. And I do like the Legionnaire’s hats (though not the name…makes me think of Legionnaire’s disease).
If I won, I’d go for the Long Sleeve Suit with the Blue Body and Black trim in 2 T.

As a rosacea sufferer, I know how important sun protection is! I’m loving the shorts (blue) with the blue short sleeve rash guard shirt. I think my son might actually wear something like this (he’s a bit of a fashion diva and is almost 6 so …. ) I love the suits your kids have but I think mine would riot with long sleeves!

I love Sun Protection Zone’s “Girl’s Long Sleeve Suit, Pink Tie Dye / Pink Sleeve.” We’re terribly fair-skinned, and we don’t last too long in the sun. This sweet pink outfit is the BEST.
