I made it to Laos with the kids! I will be composing my play-by-play account soon.
Lets just say I’m really tired today and I also seem to be having an allergic reaction to a sulpha drug I have been taking for 6 days. In the form of hives.
If I’m lucky maybe I can sport the splotchy red legs on my Vietnam trip on Friday.
But really, even with the things that seem to go “all wrong” when I travel, I love seeing new places.
And I like to read books and go to the library and things like that, but try as I might, I know I would be disappointed if my “vacation” had to be a “staycation”.
The folks at LastMinuteTravel.com contacted me and asked if I would like to be a part of promoting their contest, “Staycations Suck”.
Personally I don’t use the word “sucks” all that often as an adjective, but I totally understand the spirit behind this.
LastMinuteTravel.com is giving away one vacation a week to save people from their staycations (each vacation will have approximately a $6,000 value).
Only two weeks and two vacations remain!

Oh dear! I’m sorry to hear you’ve been getting hives, that would totally take some of the fun away from your vacation.
The experience of going to a foreign country won’t be complete without tasting the delicacies that are native to that land.
Wow, Laos and Vietnam are wonderful places to visit, lots of history and culture to take in! Don’t forget to sample the local dishes as well
Hope you enjoy, and will look forward to your travel stories! Thanks!

Glad to hear you made it home to the hubby safely, I;m sure he missed you all terribly. So sorry to hear about your drug reaction, I hope you stopped taking it! Make sure you let your MD know and don’t take any ever again, your next reaction could be worse! I get an anaphylactic reaction now (used to be just a rash) whenever I am exposed to sulfa drugs.
Too bad that Last Minute Travel is only on Facebook and Twitter… I don’t do either. Good luck to everyone who participates!
