Snake Repellent Giveaway

snake My 7th grade math teacher was afraid of snakes. REALLY afraid of snakes. Once in a while someone would come in wearing a snake skin belt or boots (hey, I’m from Alabama) and she would go into hysterics.

So if you were to ask me if I were afraid of snakes, I would say no.

However, snakes have been spotted a few times recently on our school playground.

Am I afraid of snakes in theory? No.

Am I afraid of encountering a snake in nature? Heck yes!

I was going around to each tire in the playground and giving in a good kick before the kids started to play.

Do I want to find a snake coiled in there waiting to bite my face off? Of course not! But I don’t want the students to be bitten either.

Sweeney’s makes all natural, biodegradable snake repellent.

I didn’t know such a product existed, but it is ideal for use around swing sets, sandboxes, pools, gardens, sheds and woodpiles.

Sweeney’s Snake Repellent comes in the form of granules that you spread around the area.

“Snakes continuously monitor their surroundings by “sensing’” chemicals from the air with their tongues,” explains Stew Clark, Director of Research and Development at Sweeney’s. “Sweeney’s Snake Repellent emits a sweet, pungent aroma that snakes find distasteful, causing them to leave the area without harming them.”

Sweeney’s Snake Repellent is safe to use around kids and pets, and the all natural ingredients are biodegradable and will not harm lawns, plants or garden vegetables.

One application lasts for 30 days.

Granules are shaken around the area you wish to protect, in a 6-10 inch wide barrier strip.

Sweeney’s is giving away a bag of their Snake Repellent to 2 Mom Most Traveled readers.

I would use it around my house. I think snakes are so important, but I just don’t want them anywhere near me.

My fear of snakes is so great that it hinders me from enjoying the summer; I’m even afraid to let my kids play outside. In fact, the packaging for the product even creeps me out, but if it will work, I’ll use it!

I live out in the country, where snakes are everywhere. I could use a boatload of this stuff all around the house and yard, especially the outdoor play area.

I’d like to use it in my back yard. I don’t want us to have to kill four snakes again this summer. I had to kill two and my husband killed two. They were coming after my small dog. Thankfully the dogs did not get bitten. One of those snakes was so agressive it was even coming after my husband. Each of those snakes after dead were measured at over four feet long. It makes me shudder just thinking about it. P.S. I’ve already seen snake holes in the back yard again this year. Yikes.

We had two pygmy rattlesnakes in our backyard last year, plus a cottonmouth. I’d love to test out this product!

i saw a little rattler go in a hole at the base of our garage. Rattlers are suppose to be rare and harmless (the kind here). but I would rather he be rare and harmless somewhere other than my house! I would like him and the rest of his family (you know there isn’t one lonely snake hanging around!!) to leave!

I live in Maine, and we don’t have poisonous snakes here or so they say. However, I am heading to Central America next month. They have all kinds of unwanted creatures I do not want to encounter there during my visit…, so if I can get it in the luggage, its coming with me to put around my in-laws home, esp. the room I will be sleeping in!

My front yard. We live an hour away from a hospital out in the country in Wyoming. We have plenty of rattlesnakes and bullsnakes. I have two children 3 and 10 and I am always worried they won’t be paying attention and run into one. With us living so far from a hospital it would be hard to get them the medical attention they need.
