Both of my children were early walkers. I dutifully purchased some of the little baby moccasins that are commonly recommended for baby’s first pair of shoes.

I always wondered why “someone” didn’t make a “baby’s first shoe” that could actually be useful outdoors.

I should have invented Smaller, the distinctly hip line of soft-soled baby booties for babies 0 to 18 months.

Smaller is the newest member of the See Kai Run family, which now includes shoes for children 0-18 months (Smaller), toddler sizes 3 to 9 (See Kai Run), and big kid sizes 9 to 3 (Eleven).

Every time I go to the See Kai Run site, I get a bad case of covets. Their shoes are absolutely the coolest, and the look so well made. I love the Smaller shoes since I do like putting shoes on my little “stander” and the Robeez are nice, but more slipper-like. The Smaller shoes look like real shoes, only smaller.

I’d love the Addison, or maybe the Peter, since that’s one of my brother’s names. Or I could go with the Gavin, one of my earliest boyfriends. Ok, stick with the Addison…Gavin was nothing but trouble :).

And I’d probably need them in a 12-18 month, since I’m the mother to bigfoot, who will be walking in another few months.

I have been totally coveting the Addisons for my son, and the Tine for my daughter. They are both 16 months and small for their age, so I think we’d need 12-18 months.

Oh, they’re all so cute. I really like ‘Rhonda’ though — the pink and green together are really cute. My daughter is only 6 months now, but I think I’d wait for them until she’s a year or 18 months, so I’d go with a bigger size.

I love the little pink Tamar Mary Janes. My daughter has the tiniest feet, even though she’s 17 months old. She’s sleeping now, so I can’t measure. But, she’d probably be either the 0-6 or 6-9 month size.
