Macy’s and their Shop for a Better World program along with Willa Shalit and her company Fair Winds Trading, are doing great things through Path to Peace.
Path to Peace creates trade partnerships with artisans in recovering regions to bring the power of change to Rwanda and Indonesia by empowering women through a sustainable income provided by the sale of their fair trade crafts.
The O Bracelet is one such craft, recently featured in O Magazine.
Each bracelet in this series is hand-made by two women–a weaver in Rwanda and a jewelry artist in New Orleans.
Fair Winds Trading trained 250 urban women to create hand-crafted jewelry inspired by knots.
This work earns them nearly 14 times the national per capita income, affording them opportunities for their families in both nutrition and education.
On Tuesday Oct 6 at 6pm EST. Willa Shalit is going to do a live streaming chat on tinychat.com to speak about the project. Be sure to attend to get the skinny!

Hello,
Hope you’re doing fine.
Well I once visited India and I was stunned by seeing their beautiful art works and handicrafts…..Be careful if you ever visit India as they charge you with high prices…..
Thanks
