We played a fast paced, running around, throwing playground balls type of game today in preschool.
You had to stop and start along with the music, and our soundtrack of choice was Rock & Roll Playground!
Rock & Roll Playground is a great mix of a lot of my favorite children’s artists, including Dan Zanes, Uncle Rock, and Charity and the JAMband.
The “liner notes” are actually a pretty substantial and educational booklet with fun illustrations and historical notes about rock and roll music. Plus there are Chuck Berry quotes, and he is my favorite person to quote.
- 1 Bill Harley • Sleep the Whole Day Through
- 2 Brady Rymer and the Little Band That Could • Jump Up (It’s a Good Day)
- 3 Peter Himmelman • Little Bitty Baby
- 4 Taj Mahal and Linda Tillery • Willie and the Hand Jive
- 5 Dan Zanes and Friends • Let’s Shake
- 6 Charity and the JAMband • Row Row Row Your Boat
- 7 Rhythm Child • Oh Susanna
- 8 Rosie Flores & the Pine Valley Cosmonauts • This Little Girl’s Gone Rockin’
- 9 Uncle Rock • Magic Carpet Ride
- 10 Melissa Green • At the Bus Stop
- 11 StarFish • The StarFish Stomp
- 12 Roger Day • Dream Big!
Highlights for our exercise period today were grooving to "Willie and the Hand Jive", letting the good times roll with "Magic Carpet Ride", and a snappy, get up and move version of "Row Row Row Your Boat".
Putumayo Kids consistently delivers on quality children’s music from all over the globe, in a variety of sophisticated styles.
Rock and Roll Playground is another winner!
