Progresso Brings The Flavor!

I love cooking with broth instead of water. I am a vegetarian so I usually use veggie or mushroom broth, and it really boosts the flavor!

I also like the satisfying crunch of crispy Panko Bread Crumbs (remember my croquette recipe? always impresses company!)

For some helpful cooking tips and exciting new recipes, visit Progressofoods.com and Progressobroth.com has wisdom from celebrity chef Michael Chiarello’s about casual weekend entertaining, preparing a holiday feast or inspiration for a weeknight meal - all using Progresso panko bread crumbs and Progresso broth.

Progresso broths are 100% natural and use high quality ingredients to achieve a great homemade taste. They are fat free, gluten free, contain no preservatives, no added MSG and no artificial flavors. Progresso broth is available in chicken and reduced sodium chicken and beef flavors.

A few of Chef Chiarello’s tips for quick, flavorful meals:

* Breading 1-2-3: Panko adds the perfect light crunch to fish fillets, chicken breasts and pork chops. Dip in flour, then beaten egg and coat both sides in Panko before frying or baking

* Faux Fried: Instead of frying, bake Panko-coated chicken in a 400F oven for 20 minutes to get the same crispy crunch without the fat

* Give New Life to Leftovers: Time in the fridge can steal moisture and flavor; drizzle a little broth over last night’s pasta or casserole before reheating

* Better than H20: Water adds moisture, not flavor; replace water with broth when you cook potatoes, rice and grains

At ProgressoFoods.com you can get a coupon for $1.00*off any two Progresso products. At ProgressoBroth.com there is a coupon for $.50 off a package of broth.

My Blog Spark and Progresso provided me with a Progresso panko and broth prize pack which includes a sample of Progresso panko, a carton of Progresso broth, a measuring cup, slotted spoon, soup ladle and a sheet pan for baking for myself, plus a prize pack for my readers!

I make home entertaining easier by making comprehensive lists! I am the queen of lists, and when I have everything I need to host a party, I don’t have to worry about last-minute dashes to the store.

Some things can be prepared up to a day ahead of time. Make as much in advance as you can so you have more time to spend with your guests!

main entry: the best part of home entertaining for me is to pick a theme which includes the food as your starting point then make sure everything eles from there matches it such as the table settings which include your serving dishes, dinner napkins etc. So i look for themes of all these items ahead of time throughout the year in yard sales etc and buy the plastic bowls or large plates for serving or even glass but i prefer plastic for easy light weight storage and outside entertaining and when I run acoss these pieces in themes like tropical or mexican designs I then store them in a small card board box marked with the theme adding my pieces as i find them and when its time to entertain I then have my needed items already in the complete themed box ready for easy reach. you can also buy themed cotton fabrics on sale and make simple 8×8 inch square dinner napkins using your serger if you have one to create lovely matching napkins to store with your themed items, 1 yard of cotton fabric is enough to make 4-6 dinner napkins and still have enough to use as a rectangle table runner for your tables center piece. Plan ahead for entertaining by looking for themes like western prints or other designs like mexican . tropical, designs in fabrics to use as dinner napkins, table runners or table clothes which can easily be created by cutting these up and serging the edges. Use the items you already have like your store bought napkins as your pattern to create them. Alot more fun and creative and less costly than store bought. great giveaway offer thanks

As sad as it is, I always try to serve something that cooks quickly like squash ravioli from costco and a nice organic salad mix. It still is fancy enough for a dinner get together, but only takes a few minutes.

The best tip I can give for making entertaining easier is to make sure you do not try to go all out. If you are inviting friends and/or family then they already love you so you do not have to impress them. You can have a good time with a little. Plus most of the time when you have a lot of stuff, a lot of it gets thrown away, so stay simple and have FUN!!

One easy entertaining tip I keep reminding myself is to never try new recipes for the event. No matter how delicious, recommended or cool the dish looks and/or seems.
I’ve just noticed someone posted something similar, so here’s another tip: You can never have too much ice.
