The Playmobil zoo from Playmobil’s 1.2.3. line arrived at our house today.
1.2.3 is designed for younger children, ages 18 months and older, and also appropriate and safe for special needs children.
The pieces feature bright colors and rounded edges.
I took a picture of an original sized Playmobil figure (the pilot, on the left) next to a figure from Playmobil’s 1.2.3. line.
The 1.2.3 figure is more stout, a bit shorter, and his arms don’t move. The body bends at the waist.
I love that guy’s camera around his neck. He looks like such a goober dad at the zoo. Perfect!
Jojo helped me set it up during Deeds’s naptime, and when Deeds found it upon waking, he became so engaged in imaginative play, I was amazed.
He was talking for the characters and moving around the pieces.
Everyone took a turn in the tractor, and on the horse.
I realized this was the first time he has had a play set like this designed just for his 2-year-old needs.
His face was just glowing.
He also found the wee catalog that came in the box and emphatically stated that we should go pick up several more 1.2.3 vehicles from the store right that minute.
We didn’t go to the store today, of course, but he does have a birthday coming up in August…
The 1.2.3 Large Zoo includes five people figures (even a baby), an elephant, giraffe, a pony, a donkey-like animal, a zebra, monkey, lamb, rabbit, a bird and nest, a tractor with trailer, baby stroller, and other neat things like fencing, trees, and a park bench.
The 1.2.3 Large Zoo is a huge hit at our house. This set retails for $44.99

Yay! I’m glad to see Playmobile has finally created toys for toddlers. My brothers and I loved their play sets growing up, and I hope to introduce them into our home…now sooner than I anticipated.
