All of that to introduce you to my favorite traveling food, Peeled Snacks! Peeled Snacks are convenient bags of dried fruits and lightly salted nuts. The fruits and nuts are sealed in separate compartments within the bag so that the fruit stays moist and the nuts stay crunchy. Peeled Snacks are a balance of carbohydrates, fiber, and protein. Voila! A travel-friendly, tasty, filling, and nutritious snack!
Peeled Snacks come in several varieties: Deeds is enjoying Shock-olate (apricots, pears, almonds, walnuts and dark chocolate…yes, I ate the chocolate and not Deeds). Normally, a baby with two teeth would not be able to eat dried fruit, but the innovate packaging of Peeled Snacks results in a VERY tender, moist, juicy “dried” fruit that most definitely does not require teeth-of-steel. Deeds REALLY liked the dried pears.

Peeled Snacks has no added sugar or oils, so I can share them with my whole family in good conscience. I tried to decide which variety of Peeled Snacks that I like the best, but I really like all of them! There’s FigSated, a mix of apricots, figs, dates, almonds, and pistachios, Bing Bing Cherry, which contains cherries, apples, peaches, walnuts, and cashews, and PluWhat?, with white peaches, plums, cashews, and pluots.
Bing Bing Cherry got me through a difficult layover in St. Louis. I smugly enjoyed my Peeled Snacks as I watched others in the airport munching on fried foods. I was satisfied that I had a truly delicious snack and could therefore not be tempted by junky alternatives.
I am definitely packing Peeled Snacks in our carry on luggage. My only question is, how many packs of Peeled Snacks should I take?
I want you to have a chance to try Peeled Snacks, too! One Mom Most Traveled reader will WIN a Steamy Summer Gift Box of Peeled Snacks, which contains 3 packs each of Bing Bing Cherry, FigSated, and PluWhat?($25 value!).

*Once while traveling on Air China, I pre-ordered a vegetarian meal. When the flight attendant came down the aisles asking, “Pork or Chicken?” I said, “I am vegetarian”. She replied, “Okay!” and continued to wheel the cart. She didn’t give me any food. No peanuts, no drink, nothing.
A year or two later, I was flying Thai Air, and my vegetarian meal was also overlooked. However, this time, instead of making me go hungry, the flight attendants went to first class and came back with a lovely cheese tray and some bananas and vegetarian baked beans for me. It was more than enough food. Guess which airline I prefer to use?*
*The Winner IS: blueviolet (Thanks to her SECOND EXTRA BONUS ENTRY, WHICH said… My food traveling story is that I pre-plan my kids snacks and pack them separately and then at certain times of the day, they get to open the surprise bag and get their snack. They just love it and it doesn’t matter to them that it’s a healthy snack because they’re so excited with the surprise of it all.*
