Party Like a Twinkle Star is probably the cutest name I have ever heard for a children’s album.
And there is an element of genius in this album by Charity and the JAMband: it contains two CD’s; one with danceable songs for “rockin’ out” and one with chill songs for “tucking in”.
The “party” songs are energetic and uplifting, with positive lyrics about a variety of subjects from “Get Your Booty Out of Bed” (first song on the album!) to Some More S’Mores and Amazing Rocket Ship.
The “tuck in” songs have a slow tempo and meaningful, snuggle-worthy lyrics like So Long to the Day, Moon Hug, and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
What do they sound like? Well, a Jam band! They have been compared to Phish…for toddlers.
Charity and the JAMband plan two Bay Area CD release concerts, January 23rd at Recess Urban Recreation in San Francisco, and February 7th at Ashkenaz in Berkeley.
You can buy it as a colorful 2-CD set or as a download from www.jamjamjam.com.
In the double-cd, you get not only the 2 CD’s with 10 tracks each, but also a 12-panel poster fold with lyrics for family sing-a-longs, a signed JAMband coloring page for your kids AND an immediate download of all the tracks on the album in your choice of 320k mp3, FLAC, or just about any other format you could possibly desire. (you don’t have to rip it yourself)
