After my fun day in NYC, I traveled via Amtrak to Boston. I hadn’t experienced Amtrak before, but I love and embrace the “quiet car” philosophy. And it really was quiet in there.
I was given directions by a friend about transferring from the “T” (that means train!) to the orange line on the subway and was able to make my way to Jamaica Plain.
I had way too much fun with the Boston accent on this visit.
Here is what I fit into 24 hours.
Wicked ah-sahm Mexican food at The Border Cafe in Cambridge [32 Church Street, Cambridge, MA 02138-3730]. We had empanadas and fried plantains too. I could totally see Hahvaahd from theah.
Then I bought some gifts for the kids at Black Ink and Curious George Books and Toys.
Looked at Histahrahkol Ahkitekchah (historical architecture).
Checked out Bahstahn Cahmahns!
Moah histahricahl ahciteckchah!
Picked up a CSA share from Boston’s Last Working Farm.
Then back to JP, at Forest Hills Cemetery, a cemetery park from the Victorian Era.
Oh and we had a lovely Saag for dinner. Yum. Ain’t that America?
Thank you, Boston!

Sounds like fun! And what a cute baby…
Chris’ favorite dish is Saag Paneer, though it’s a bit too “irony” for me.
Glad that you had a nice time…did your ears bleed on your flight home?

Did you buy a baby for the boys? Hmm. Interesting choice…
