Newborn Baby Nostalgia
Newborn babies are so small. Its wonderful…really, they FILL you FULL of WONDER!
Little bitty finger nails and eyelashes I couldn’t even see at first. Tightly closed eyes and a little furrowed forehead. And no eyebrows. New. Half a day old. What does it feel like to be half a day old? It felt sacred to hold something so small and young. Like maybe he was fresh from a conversation with God. Maybe that is why he wanted to keep his eyes closed. So the ugliness of the world couldn’t get in yet.
What I loved about having a newborn was knowing that I was all he needed and wanted! I also LOVE kissing little bald baby heads!
I like this picture of baby Deeds; it is a picture of me holding him right when he was first handed to me by the nurses. Baby Deeds was DELICIOUS!

How beautiful is a newborn. It was certainly an incredible feeling, holding my sons right after giving birth. We are only given that gift once or twice in a lifetime. Well, some people are given that gift seven or eight times I guess!
