New Baby Gifts At Maukilo

Rubbabu Maukilo is a fabulous online toy store that carries high-quality American and European-made toys.

I have done some serious “widow shopping” at http://www.maukilo.com, because I love the brand Haba, and words like “heirloom quality” get me every time.

My newest discovery from Maukilo is the Rubbabu line of natural rubber toys.

I had read about Rubbabu toys being “100% biodegradable, all-natural rubber. They are soft and squishy to the touch, yet sturdy enough to handle years of abuse. The exterior of the toy is covered in safe and non-toxic flocking that makes the toy feel silky smooth to the touch. This great covering is made from the natural sap of rubber trees and gives these cars a distinctive look and feel."

But it wasn’t until I actually had a Rubbabu car in my classroom that I saw how it drew my 3-year-old students like a magnet, and seemed impossible to put down

It is a crazy combination: a soft yet sturdy wheeled vehicle.

It is just the thing to keep children like my 2-year-old Deeds from hurting someone in his zeal for “vroom vrooms".

Maukilo has a host of wonderful gifts for babies, gifts for toddlers, and gifts for children.

Thanks, Maukilo, for sending me a cool Rubbabu Giraffe of my own, to share with Deeds.

Man, those look as if they fell right out of the 60s. Is there anything you can think of that feels like the rubbery-texture? It looks like tub toy material, but is it different?
