Never Carry Around a Dirty Bib Again!

I have been traveling with my children for as long as I have been a mom. My first airplane adventure as a mom was with my new 7-week-old baby.

In normal every day life, I tend to be a laid-back person, but when traveling with children I have been forced to become very systematic and strategic. What things are necessary? What things are not? How can I minimize the stress and chaos for my children and myself?

One thing that helps me stay in control is to have a manageable amount of luggage. I have to be free to interact with my child; I can’t be weighed down by nonessentials. But there are SO many essentials when traveling with young children. It thrills me to find an “essential” that has been redesigned in a more practical, convenient, portable way.

The Kipiis Bib Clip is a helpful accessory for travel (and every day) because it allows me to turn ANYTHING into a bib. Paper napkin in the airport lounge? Check. Cloth napkin in a restaurant. Sure! One of my husband’s t-shirts? Okay! (don’t tell him).

The beautiful part is that once I use the (whatever it is) on the Kipiis Bib Clip, I can leave the dirtyness behind instead of packing up a USED, food-encrusted bib back into our bag.

Cloth napkin bib, Kipiis style:
Cloth diaper:

Paper towel:
The clips are made out of ABS resin (very tough!), while the cord is flexible thermoplastic rubber (easy to wipe off). I also like the modern design and my older child would not be offended if I used our Kipiis to clip a towel on him for messy art projects (although we don’t bring finger paints on an airplane, now do we?)
Kipiis is giving YOU a chance to win a Kipiis (say kip-ees) in your choice of color! ($12 retail value).

To enter: Go to the Kipiis website and leave a comment on this post telling me what color you like (use the official color names), and how you could use a Kipiis.

Gain a second entry by blogging about this contest and linking to this page.

Gain a third entry by subscribing to my RS feed (and leaving me a comment telling me so).

Contest Ends May 13, 9 pm CST.

Tangerine/Blue. It might just be the key to my daughter wearing a bib, I can’t keep one on her. Luckily she’s my second child, so I sort of just brush off all the stains now!

Lime and Blue is my favorite I think - I don’t know if I’m having a girl or a boy, but those are my favorite colors so that’s what I’d go with :) Thanks!

I love the magenta/lime or lime/blue — I’m having such a hard time deciding so I’d be happy with either! Thanks so much for hosting this great contest — I happened upon your blog and am really enjoying it. We travel all of the time too and are also working on becoming pilots ourselves, so this would be a fabulous solution to some of our *ahem* mess issues!

Whoops, I chose the lime/blue but didn’t say how I’d use it… if I kept it in my bag, I would never be bib-less again. It might be useful for keeping toys tethered to Jasper, too. He’s in the tossing stage. Ugh.

I like the blue and lime Kipii. I have a fifteen month old daughter and a baby on the way, so my diaper bag is bound to become VERY heavy. The more space I can save, the better. This would help me avoid having to carry two bibs!

I like the LIME/BLUE one. I could use the Bib Clip when we travel to Russia (and have to stay for quite awhile) to adopt our little one. It looks like it would help us to use whatever is convenient for a bib and free us up to pack less for the trip.

I’m subscribing to your feed because I could use all the travel tips I can get because we will also be first time parents when we travel with our little one in Russia :)

I’ve needed something like this lately. My kids are far too old for bibs, but they’re still awfully messy. This could be useful both when we’re out to eat and also when they’re crafting at different parties and things like that.

Lime and blue is my favorite.

coral/red! now, THIS would rock on a road trip or airplane trip when i’d rather chuck a napkin in the trash than wash a bib (and haul around even more dirty laundry)!

I like the lime/blue combination because it seems like the most boyish and my three younger ones that wear bibs are boys. The baby (a girl) isn’t eating solid food but when she starts the magenta/coral would be my choice. I’m taking a trip soon and these would be great. If I don’t win, I’ll be placing an order from Kipiis.

I used to carry around a vinyl bib for quick wipeability (not a word but should be.) I’m done with the vinyl bib because I recently read about the risk of lead in those bibs. Bib clips would be a great alternative for our all-too-frequent restaurant trips!
