Mix My Granola!

I just had so much fun creating my custom granola mix at MixMyGranola!

I have tried to make my own granola before, you know like cooking? And I burned it. Strangely one of my friends came in, saw the burned pan of granola on the table and insisted that he LOVED burned granola. I was just waiting for it to cool so I could throw it away but disgustingly, this desperate, starved bachelor ate it.

Needless to say, MixMyGranola is way less stressful than cooking your own granola and it is fool proof!

There are more than 50 ingredients to choose from, but don’t worry; the folks at MixMyGranola.com have it all set up so there is no need to be overwhelmed.

First, you pick your granola base. I went with the organic.

Next, you get to pick “ingredients”, like fruit (I went with dried apricots and dried blackberries, then went back and added dried mangoes, too), nuts and seeds (I decided on chia seeds and hemp seeds, but the roasted almonds were tempting me!), and what they call “extras“, which really means “stuff that isn’t exactly healthy, but is very delicious!”.

My mouth was watering at this point; creating your perfect mix at MixMyGranola is like being a kid in a candy store. Especially since they literally have candy as an option.

I succumbed to the candy pressure and selected yogurt covered pretzels, and pomegranate cordials to go into my mix.

I tried to hold myself back but I added some sesame sticks too.

When you create your mix, you can click on the handy Nutrition Calculator and it tells you all of the nutritional info, displayed in the familiar format of a label you would see on packaged food. My mix has 6 grams of protein per serving!

You even get to name your mix! You are limited to 25 characters. I decided to call mine Can Can’s Travelin’ Yums! because hey, I’m kind of weird, and also, I have always joked with one of my friends that we should open up a restaurant called Can Can and Lulu’s Num Nums. (don’t steal our name!).

Upon checkout I noticed that shipping is a flat rate of $4.99 no matter how large your order. That could be cool if you were ordering several tubes of Can Can’s Wedding Nosh to give out as favors.

If you don’t feel like creating your own mix (what is wrong with you, anyway?), you can also select from the expertly done premixed varieties.

I do plan to share this with my children when it arrives; they love snacking on seeds and I feel like a good mom when they do.
