History was made this weekend.
For the first time ever, I met up with travel bloggers in my own fair city of Vientiane, Laos.
Oh, sure I have been around the world from London to LA, its “Can Can, go Can Can, Mom Most Traveled, yo Can Can!” But the rest don’t come and play.
Until today. I partied with Jack, Aye, and Emma of Got Passport, Will Travel fame.
By “party” I mean we went to a restaurant, ate stuff, and talked. We even talked about politics, which is something we only do in person.
You have to book an appointment for that.
Also, matching green shirts are not required for meet ups. But a very nice touch.
Meeting with other travel bloggers is awesome. Travel is awesome. Blogging is awesome.
Travel blogging is awesome (squared).
Besides the commonalities of both traveling and blogging, travel bloggers are usually verbose (a term that I choose to believe means “verbally obese”), humanitarian, “more fun, less stuff”-oriented, and adventurous.
Who wouldn’t want to hang out with us?
Connect with @GotPassport on Twitter, Got Passport Facebook Fan Page, and GotPassport on YouTube.
Other proof that bloggers exist outside of the interwebs:
NYC Museum of Natural History, TBEX ‘10, Atlantis Resort, Bahamas, TBEX ‘09, BlogHer ‘09.

How fun to meet up like that and be able to talk about your adventures. Politics, well if you’re in agreement might be fun, otherwise a little tricky to discuss. Great that all the members of the families were there enjoying a great meal together, or was the meal great because the company was great. Hopefully it was a combination of the two.

Awwww- Candice- it was such a pleasure to meet with you. One of the things we really treasure about out travels is the opportunity to meet locals and meeting other expats. Wished our time was a bit longer. Somehow I have a feeling we’ll be back in Vientiane very soon and we’ll be having another meal together. We absolutely look forward to it!
Cheers from Chiang Mai.

Hilarious about the matching green shirts!! Looking forward to visiting sometime, and going to have to use super psychic powers to coordinate. Or maybe just borrow Jack & Aye’s shirts.
Awesome you all met up - so great to connect with other people that also double as travel bloggers.
