When I was a kid, I loved those Choose Your Own Adventure books. However, many times, the adventure ended up being rather lame.
I am beyond excited to see how the "Choose Your Own" approach has evolved!
Behold, Meanwhile: Pick Any Path. 3,856 Story Possibilities. by Jason Shiga!
I will just pause to let that sink in for a minute. Yep. About a bazillion story possibilities.
The choices availed to readers of Meanwhile: Pick Any Path. 3,856 Story Possibilities. (via the story’s main character, Jimmy) range from the mundane (chocolate or vanilla ice cream?) to the fantastical (want to ride a squid?).
Follow the “tubes” on the easy to navigate high-gloss, tabbed pages and see what happens next!
Don’t like your consequences? Choose again.
Jason Shiga some how included elements of every single area of my child’s interest: a mad scientist’s lab, time travel, mysterious clues and puzzles…it doesn’t get any MORE exciting for an armchair adventurer.
Is Jimmy safe in your hands? Or will you lead him into disaster?
Read it again and switch it on him!
Let me also say, as an educator, graphic novels are a fantastic way to engage a reluctant reader.
Meanwhile: Pick Any Path. 3,856 Story Possibilities. is full-color, full-awesome, and published by Abrams Books.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of Meanwhile.

That’s awesome they are bringing those books back. I’m also glad that every 10 pages you aren’t killed by a wizard, ape, scientist, or fall into a hole. I would die close to 10 times a day: it makes a girl tired.
