Madeline C’est Bon!
Madeline fans, rejoice!
John Bemelmans Marciano, grandson of Madeline creator Ludwig Bemelmans, has written (and illustrated) a sequel in the Madeline series!
Madeline and the Cats of Rome follows Miss Clavel and the girls on a trip to Rome.
While there, they fall victim to a camera-snatching, which leads to a chase by Madeline and her dog, Genevieve, and all kinds of adventures.
The artwork and the rhyme scheme both stay true to the original Madeline books. And we do love Madeline!
Lots of people do; in the 70 years since Madeline’s creation, she has earned the love and admiration of fans all over the world!
To celebrate Madeline’s 70th year, Kids Preferred has created several different lovely licensed Madeline plush dolls.
At local toy stores (or at http://www.ticastoys.com), you can find 70th 
Anniversary Madeline, a 13.5″ limited edition collectible doll dressed in blue and white dress adorned with Parisian landmarks ($25), Dressable Madeline, a 13.5″ Madeline doll dressed in the familiar blue school coat and yellow hat (425), with the option to purchase additional outfits soon!
And for a smaller option, there are Madeline 9″ beanie dolls ($12), great for toting around town.
We chose Dressable Madeline, and at that house, that means lots of nakey Madeline lying around. I do like the fact that her clothes are removable, as it extends the play value of the doll.
Next time we curl up with our copy of Mad About Madeline, I will invite our little doll along, too!

WOW>. We LOVE madeline ! Mostly because it our daugthers name which we were blessed to give birth to in 2005. We collect all madeline things, dolls, books, houses..
Thanks for posting this and we would love to be entered in this fantastic drawing.. Our Little madeline Daddy is planning a trip to Paris so a real authentic doll would be great to take along !! , Love this site too !! Great recommendations and a FUN read !

WE would love to receive either the 70th anniversary limited edition, or the 9″ beanie Madeline. We love everything Madeline, and have all the books, videos and many of the dolls, including Madeline, Chloe, Danielle, and of course, Pepito! My daughter had Madeline-themed birthday parties when she was younger, and we still love her today! Great giveaway! Thanks.
