Mable, Mable If You’re Able…
My boys have many nick names. Jonas answers to Jojo, Jojobean, Beanie,and Joby. Deacon gets called Deaky, Deedles, Tu-tu, Boo Bear, and Deeds.
Whatever your child’s name, they sure have lots of STUFF to keep track of, don’t they? If you have more than one child involved in more than one activity, it becomes important to have a system in place.
I didn’t realize this as a new mom of one. When I brought Jojo to the nursery or whatever child care, I didn’t label his belongings clearly. Jojo was too little to know which cup or bag was his, and some times the child care providers were too busy to keep up with his unlabeled things for us. After several lost sippy cups, I started trying to write his name on the cups in permanent marker.
Since then I have worked in a nursery myself and discovered that permanent marker DOES NOT stay on sippy cups and pacifiers. The slick, plastic surface causes the writing to wear off quite quickly.

I’ve been wanting some of these labels for a while now, not that Soren goes places where his stuff gets confused with others’, but I know these will come in handy eventually. I’d probably go with the skull/crossbones, since we consider ourselves punk-rock, or at least swashbucklers.
I too have a number of nicknames for SoJo, like Peanut, Darlin, Milkshake, and Boo-boo (which we have to be careful of, so people don’t think he was a “mistake”)

Good for you and for young mothers out there. My children are all big except my youngest who is nine years old but he doesn’t need marker too cause he is old enough to identify his things..But then this is a big help to many mothers…

The American flag is great. I’d give these to friends who are missionaries in Russia who gave their child a common Russian name so it would show WHICH child it belonged to!

I would definitely choose the “skull n’ crossbones” icon. My son LOVES pirates and anything to do with pirates. He would absolutely adore it.
And I totally agree with you about the losing of items due to them not being labeled. My son has managed to lose about $45 worth of cups in the last few months and it’s getting aggravating when the marker wears off after 2 runs through the dishwasher.
