Livin’ The Dream
Moms have moments where we wonder, “Is this really how things are supposed to be?”
Is this my dream of motherhood? One child wrapped around my leg, another calling for assistance from the bathroom, when all I wanted was a simple drink of water?
As a matter of survival, I find it is best to laugh at myself in moments like those.
I love my new Livin’ The Dream shirt, created by a pair of moms who are laughing with me about the way reality has reshaped my dreams of matriarchal bliss.
The tongue-in-cheek t-shirt line, Livin’ The Dream, features a cartoon mom in various overwhelming everyday situations, frazzled, but ever smiling.
My Cooking Mom shirt features the LTDchix mom with a frying pan in hand, encumbered by a child hanging from her elbow. I’m sure I don’t have the only family who falls apart just as I begin to get dinner ready. Can I get an “amen”?
Besides the funny message, I also like the actual shirt.
Soft and thin, this 100% cotton jersey crew neck has a contrasting rolled-hem, white trim at the neck, sleeves and bottom.
I layered mine with my favorite camisole. It is so comfortable and cute; you will be seeing this shirt again soon on an upcoming Mom Most Traveled webisode!

I knew I was livin’ the dream when my daughter started teething and nursing became a painful battle.
The laundry design is my favorite but the working mom design fits me very well since I’m balancing working at home and taking care of my teething, almost-walking, attention-loving baby!

I love the laundry in light blue. With 5 of us in this house I LIVE that one daily!! I think there should be one with dishes, too…for those of us that don’t have a dishwasher

My favorite shirt is the grocery shopping… we FIT the pic to the T… one in the cart, one holding yhe cart and the other trailing behind:) And when I do venture out I usually have to get a weeks worth or MORE so I don’t have to do it again for a while:)
Hmmm… my living the dream moments are trying to have a “dining experience” at a sit-down restuarant with kiddies grabbing food, running around the table, coloring with crayons and an occassional spilled drink… I look over at a younger couple with no kids and think, “just wait!”
I won’t change it for anything although sometimes I secretly wish with they get a little bigger… but then I’d miss this cute stage:)

I love the picture- its adorable. The cooking mom is what I like. You know there are days where its smooth and you think its heaven and days where the boogers don’t stop flying- ok gross thought but yep there are moments where I know I have it all and days where I pull my hair out and think what it would have been like on a different route and you know what- I choose the boogies flying and the fun and memories that go with it.

I love the idea of these shirts. I like the pink long sleeve cooking tee. My livin’ the dream moment would be when my daughter climbs on me as I’m trying to do crunches or some other floor exercise. Added resistance!

I like the workout Mom shirt, too. I could have been the poster child for the Shopping Mom shirt when my boys were younger. I let my oldest one walk as long as he held onto the cart, my next son sat in the basket, my 3rd son sat in the seat (securely strapped as he’s the only one who managed to tip a shopping cart over), and my youngest son in the Snugli on my chest. Not much room for groceries after all that.

I like the Beach Cart one. It could say “My diaper bag” underneath it…I have everything anyone could ever need in my diaper bag. As for living the dream…I would have to say when I was sick-sick on top of morning sickness and potty training a toddler I had many, many moments of Living the Dream. I’m feeling nauseous just thinking about it.

All the shirts are great but my favorite is the Light Pink Beach Cart. I knew i was livin’ the dream when a trip to the beach meant packing what seemed like half of everything we owned into the car for a few hours at the beach with our wonderful kids.

RIght now Livin’ the Dream for me is cleaning up after my 3 kids (4,3 and 1 yr old) AND 2 dogs, one being a puppy. Potty training a dog in time to start potty training a toddler… Fun stuff!

The moments that stick in my head are when my husband gets home from work and I’m trying to get dinner on the table, feed the baby, and keep the other kids out of trouble. It’s chaos, but I wouldn’t trade it…

I love the laundry shirt. Now that my daughters are teens I seem to always be doing laundry.
My “Livin’ the Dream” moment was when my children were preschoolers.I would leave them in the living room with their daddy. Then I would sneak into the bathroom with bubble bath, a good book, and some chocolate hoping to get some “me time.” Just as I got relaxed and started reading, I would hear, “Mommy….Mommy, are you in there.” And their little fingers would be stretching under the door trying their hardest to reach me.
I finally learned that “me time” went better when their daddy watched them and I mowed the yard on the riding mower. They may have still called my name, but I couldn’t hear them over the mower.

I knew I was living the dream when I noticed after the exterminator left my house (2 weeks after the birth of my daughter) that my breasts were leaking and I had a big glob of baby poop on my shirt. What a great day that was!:-)
