Life’s Building Blocks

Did you know that children retain 10% of what you tell them, 40% if you add a story, 60% if you add pictures, 90% if you add music?

I really want my children to learn what it means to be of strong character. I am finding it challenging to teach my preschooler and toddler about fairness, unselfishness, kindness, honesty, self-control, courage, and persistence.

I don’t need to wait until they are old enough to spell these words to begin with these concepts!

I’m relieved to have some great tools from Life’s Building Blocks to help me.

Storytelling Zaki is a plush “character chameleon” that teaches kids when and how to stop, slow down, think, or go for it!

Zaki has a cute song,“Zaki’s song” which talks about the way he changes colors, but the real jewel is the six fables, each about two minutes long and told in rhyme, starring the Spruce Street Six.

Zaki has a nice, paternal sounding voice with an Aussie accent, and a large colorful plush body that will make him a favorite friend for your child!

Storytelling Zaki even received the 2008 Preferred Choice Award.

Life’s Building Blocks was founded by two parents who saw a need for character building products that would be fun for kids and easy for parents to use.

Children require different learning strategies at different ages, so Life’s Building Blocks characters include Zaki, a lovable, talking, plush “character chameleon,” and the Spruce Street Six — a group of best friends in the third grade.

The Spruce Street Six Chapter Books are written for ages 6-9 and follows the characters (Honest Jake®, Jessica the Brave®, Calm Carlos®, Lauren Never Quits®, Jarrett the Just™ and Kind Shawnie™), on daily adventures where moral dilemmas and ethical solutions abound. As your child reads, they get an inside look at each character’s decision making process.

The Spruce Street Six Activity Books are another great resource for young readers. Fun puzzles, short stories, word searches and coded messages. There are six activity books available, and each focuses on a specific virtue.
Parents will find that these themes offer terrific springboards for meaningful discussions with children.

The Spruce Street Six chapter book series and the “Help Me Build My Character” activity book series each received the Seal of Excellence Award.

Life’s Building Blocks is committed to creating products that aid in promoting moral and character development.

Use discount code ALife20 to get 20% off a purchase of $15 or more at www.lifesbuildingblocks.com Life’s Building Blocks has engaging products for children ages 3 to 11 that teach character education!

Win it!! One Mom Most Traveled reader will win a Life Building Blocks package including Zaki, the chapter books and activity books.

To Enter: Go to Life’s Building Blocks. Have a look around and then come back here and tell me which product you are most looking forward to trying out.

One winner will be chosen at random.

This giveaway is open to US residents.

This giveaway will close on January 3, 12 midnight CST.
