I started dabbling in sunless tanning when I was in my young teens.
Early attempts resulted in strange odors, not unlike cat food, and tell-tale orange spots on tricky areas like knees and hands.
I remember trying to make up a lie about why my knees were inhumanly orange. Something about working in the garden. Not that I had a garden.
In more recent history I employed the magic of tan in a bottle for my brother’s March wedding a couple of years ago, desiring to make my legs appear less day-glo.
Now there is a new game in town for stink-free, natural looking “sunless” tanning.
SmartShield’s Self Tanner has built-in SPF 15, simultaneously protecting and moisturizing while giving your skin a “natural” glow.
The light, PABA-free, oil-free formula absorbs and dries quickly, and contains Vitamins A, C and E and Aloe Vera to soothe and smooth.
The “tan” comes from DHA instead of dyes or stains.
The DHA causes the body to produce melanin somehow.
SmartShield’s Self Tanner blocks both UVB and UVA rays with Avobenzone.
Thanks to Smart Shield for providing me with a sample of this Self Tanner.

I don’t mess with stuff like that. It scares me.
