LeapFrog has a great set of beginning readers that are compatable with the Tag reading system.
We LOVE our Tag, and we LOVE LeapFrog; I can’t stress enough that Jojo learned his phonetic sounds just after his second birthday, thanks to LeapFrog products!
Now he is 5 years old and is beginning to read. He LOVES these LeapFrog Learn To Read Phonics Books.
LeapFrog Tag Learn to Read Phonics Book Set 1 contains six books featuring LeapFrog characts, designed to help your child master short vowel sounds.
The Tag reader reveals surprises on each page, but the shocker for me is that Jojo loves reading the books in LeapFrog Tag Learn to Read Phonics Book Set 1 even without the Tag pen! That’s right, he likes them as “regular books”, too.
Each story also has one or two fun phonics related activities on the ending pages. Jojo likes for me to sit and watch him do the activity aloud, so that I can be on hand to give him praise.
With the Tag reader, your child can choose to hear stories read in their entirety, hear individual words, see and hear word spellings and hear words sounded out letter by letter. All of these parts add up to a great foundation for reading!
LeapFrog Tag Learn to Read Phonics Book Set 2 is designed to teach proficiency with Long Vowels, Silent E and Y.
I think this series is fantastic; before we got these, Jojo was reading Bob Books, Set 1: Beginning Readers, which are lacking in color, artistry, and overall visual appeal.
The LeapFrog readers are colorful with engaging pictures and fairly decent story lines. Even 2-year-old Deeds requested “Dan’s Game”, from LeapFrog Tag Learn to Read Phonics Book Set 2, for his bedtime story last night!
Another great product from LeapFrog!
