Keep Your Pictures Well

Did you know that laptop computers are actually designed to have the short lifespan of two to four years?

Have you ever had one die on you? I have! Twice! Completely dead, huge-expensive-plastic-paperweight dead. When it happens, your stomach fills with sand.

Now most people would say that the MOST important thing that they would want to keep SAFE in case the computer memory was suddenly erased/ceased to function is their PICTURES.

While it is no fun to lay an expensive piece of technology to rest, at least next time I get the dreaded black screen, I can rest assured my precious family pictures are preserved!

Enter the PICTURE KEEPER, a flash drive with embedded software that comes ready to use right out of the package.
No downloading software, just plug it in your USB drive and it finds and copies all of your image files, no matter where they are on your computer.
If you have more than one hard drive, there’s a free advanced feature to scan additional drives too!
The Picture Keeper can be used for multiple computers, even a Mac and a PC!

Once you get all of your photos safely loaded onto the Picture Keeper, just unplug it and put it somewhere safe.
The Picture Keeper can also be used to display your pics in a digital photo frame, or to transport photos to have them printed (like at a drug store kiosk).

The Picture Keeper doesn’t just look pretty; it is smart too! When you take new photos and download to your computer, plug in the Picture Keeper and it will find the new or modified files and add them.

What size picture files do you have? Picture Keepers come in three sizes-

To find out what size YOU need to save YOUR photos, do this 10 second check

This little piece of brilliant technology is an asset to any family! The Picture Keeper has won a National Parenting Center Seal of Approval, an iParenting Media Award for 2009 Outstanding Products, a Father’s Day GreatDad Recommends and Mr. Dad Seal of Approval and an award for Dr. Toy Best Vacation Products for Summer 2009!

You can get your Picture Keeper on Amazon.com, or use discount code Blogger10 for 10% off any purchase at www.picturekeeper.com!

Enter to win your choice of 4GB or 8 GB Picture Keeper!

I would need the 8 GB Picture Keeper. I like that they had the information for checking how much disk space you were already using for pictures. I never knew how much I was using. I am just over 4 GB. I had no idea I had that many pictures.

I have some of my pictures backed up on CD’s. But I don’t know how to add new pictures to that. I don’t even know if you can. Then I thought I would just do another CD but I have no way of knowing which photos I didn’t already copy. The Picture Keeper has that feature where it only copies the recently changed or new photos after the initial back up. Thats a great idea!

PS: I have never had a data loss on this computer, but I did lose everything on my previous computer due to some excavators ripping out my main electric line while I was on the cpu. I lost all my original photos and a lot of other things! It was a disaster.

I don’t currently back up my photos, but have used a usb drive, zip drive, and external harddrive in the past. And, yes, my previous laptop died. I was able to save most everything, but have lost files to deceased zip drives. So sad.

Subscribed. I’m trying to get all the old family photo’s scanned into the computer. Then I’d like to restore them somewhat online, because so many of the black and whites are aged. I have even seen a colorization program the other day for black and white photo’s. It would be so cool to have them in black and white and then another copy in color. I have photo’s coming out of my ears right now that I need to scan. Plus my husband just started a hobby, possibly second career of Digital photography.

Right now I just try to keep a second copy of important stuff on my laptop for backup. I know it’s not a great method!

I would probably need the 16GB (I take a lot of photos), but the 8GB would be great!

I would need at least the 4GB to start with. I have 3.58 GB of photos in my pictures folder. Would love to have the 16 though, because I have loads of pictures in my camera from a family wedding in Aruba earlier this year!

My option for backing up pictures from my computer is a lame one…it is an external hard drive that I can’t figure out how to use to get my pictures onto it! (DUH!) I’m skating on thin ice right now, so I know that I’d better get this thing up and running!

I need the 8GB size for my pictures, including the ones from my trip to Alaska this summer. Thanks for the contest.

The larger size 8GB would be appropriate for me. I have a ton of pics!

I currently have some of my pics on flash drives. But not all of them. This would really help.

I make a copy of my hard drive about every 6-8 weeks. I should do it more often, but it is troublesome and time consuming

I currently back up my files to a backup website. I’ve lost data before, and it’s not fun at all.
