The Journey of A Thousand Miles…
We are returning to Laos in July. I need to keep reminding myself of this.
In an effort to motivate myself to get ready, I have decided to chronicle our preparation on this blog.
First, I need to make a list of everything we need to pack.
Secondly, I need to actually locate those things and see if they will fit in our luggage. This time we will have 6 seventy pound suitcases. That sounds like a lot, but it isn’t. I’m already looking at my kids’ toys, books, and clothing and wondering what isn’t going to make it with us. Not to mention some of my small kitchen appliances that I would really like to have there.
Deaky is exhausted already.
Thirdly I need to prepare get ready for the LONG LONG LONG airplane travel. This will be my first trip with not one but TWO children. I need to make a personal game plan for keeping Jojo entertained for the MORE THAN TWENTY FOUR HOURS of travel time. I need to figure out what Deaky will need.
I am going to fall back on some old tried-and-true airplane entertainment magic, but I will also be needing new travel toys, snacks, and entertainment ideas!
I can do this! I can do this! HELP!

Hi, I just wandered into your blog while browsing and are you crazy!?! Seriously. Two kids by yourself!!! Oh how I feel for you. Oh how I do. If I were taking my kids on a 24 hour journey I’m pretty sure I’d bring a tranqulizer…for me!

Hey… Yes, we both seem to love the giveaway scene!
It was a ton of fun. I won a set of earrings, personalized stamps, and two coupons for free yogurt. I was up until 2am last night jumping blogs and adding new ones to my “daily checklist”.
How about you? Did you win anything?
As for 24 hour trip….. Um…. no advice. Good snacks, good books, comfy pillow for baby naps.

yes, that is, wow! a long trip! and i am fretting over taking my 2 kids (ages 2 years and 5 months) to atlanta on an hour and a half flight! i’ll keep stopping by for tips on how to fly with kids, for sure!

Can Can, you are a brave, brave lady for travelling with your little guys for such a long flight. i didn’t realize you were leaving so soon, July is not that far away at all! Are you going back there to teach again?

Wow! 24 hours of travel and entertainment for 2 kids…AND I don’t know if I could actually fit all the stuff I think I would “need” into only 6 luggage bags! But if I had too, I’m sure I could figure it out…maybe.
