Jojo’s Room

Tonight is the first time that Jojo has slept in his room since we have arrived in Laos. The reason is, until now, it was filled with junk. Now the junk is slightly more organized, with enough space for a child to sleep. Behold the transformation (interior design lovers, you might want to take notes):
Here we have a view of the room from the doorway. I will just list the best features for you:

Close-up of the designer bedding reveals a pretty nice hand embroidered baby quilt, featuring images of an elephant, boar, and water buffalo. The blanket underneath is made from remnants at a t-shirt factory. It was about $2 at a street fair. Various pillows in a variety of shapes and sizes.

The view from Jojo’s bed is some plastic containers that will soon find another home, a plastic barn, and Deed’s pack-n-play. He doesn’t sleep in it, but soon we will move his crib out of our room and into this corner. I will probably put the pack-n-play in our room in case of midnight emergencies.

While you are still reveling in the majesty that is my children’s bedroom (and possibly feeling quite superior about the sleeping quarters of your OWN offspring), I wanted to share these show-stopping rooms by KidTropolis:

This design brings the outdoors inside, complete with an indoor tree house! Pull-out drawers on the stage offer clever, concealed storage.

If you have a little princess, you might want to give her a palace of a room, complete with a custom designed carriage bed. Sweet dreams, sleeping beauty!

And what little buckaroo wouldn’t be over the moon to sleep in a chuck wagon bed?

With the trend of nixing “vacations” in favor of “staycations,” it might be worth considering bringing a bit of adventure to your child’s room with the help of KidTropolis!

If you are on a budget, you can start “small”, and just remodel one door at a time!

Aaaaaaw, girl! I love this post! You should submit the pics of Jojo’s room to a magazine… who knows? You may start a new “eclectic” trend!(You’re a great write, btw)

Our daughter used to gnaw on our bouncing pony’s ears too and it never broke (not yet anyway)! I love tree house bedroom! I decorated my kids rooms somewhat fun BUT they are MESSY.

I like the room. Those other rooms would be like a dream come true for a child.
