Jojo’s Christmas Program

Jojo is 4-years-old, in pre-k now, and I have to say that this year’s Christmas program is the weirdest to date.

Granted, he has only been in one other Christmas program, but see if you agree.

Firstly, I got a mysterious note that Jojo needed green clothes and “a tail” for his costume. No one told me what kind of tail he needed or what kind of animal he was going to be.

So I sent a small fuzzy dinosaur cape that I rolled into a tube and secured with rubber bands onto a scarf that they could tie around his waist.

It isn’t until I’m watching the program that I realize that he is the tail of a dragonfly. That is his part in the “Christmas” program. The tail of an evil dragonfly who kidnaps a princess (I wish I were making this up).

I kind of wonder if his teacher even likes him.

CM2

Apparently my tail wasn’t huge enough so they made a giant green triangle of poster board and then rubber banded my puny tail to the very end of it so that it dragged the floor.

Other acts in the Christmas program included a sexy dance performed by 6 year olds, and a group of 2nd graders lip-synching “I Wanna Hold Your Hand.”

CM3

This picture is from the end of the program when all of the students sang “We Wish You A Merry Christmas”. Can that little bald kid be any cuter?!

He looks like a cartoon character! Have you ever seen the Henry comic strip?

Don’t ask me how, but none of the children were afraid of this Santa Claus. He handed out gifts that the parents brought in advance (Santa is always stealing the credit, isn’t he?)

After the Christmas event I was tucking Jojo into bed and he said, “I saw Santa today”.

I asked, “Oh, really? Where was he?”

Jojo: “At my school. He had a mask.”

Me: “Oh yeah. That was just a pretend one, huh?”

Jojo: *silence*

Me: (realizing my mistake) “It was a scary mask, huh?”

Jojo: “It’s not scary. It’s funny.”

It’s all in your perception, I guess!

Okay that Santa mask is scary, I’m not afraid to admit it. LOL It looks like he enjoyed it at least.

That does seem kinda weird, but you are in a different country. So, I guess it’s not so strange there?

THAT is the strangest holiday presentation I have ever heard of……but, if the kids enjoyed it, then I guess that’s all that matters. But, yeah…that mask is just plain scary!

This is most definitely the most interesting Christmas Program I have heard to date. Jojo looks adorable as usual! :)
Go figure, no one was afraid of that Santa. The ask frightened me a little.
Still chuckling over Jojo being the tail of an evil dragon fly. He was quiet cute. Give him extra hugs just because he is so cute and because my 16 year old thought I was weird trying to hug him. *sigh*

Wow, that is one freaky Santa, enough to give me nightmares.

I wish I could have seen that Christmas program. It sounded fun and funny! Maybe next year Jojo will be the bad breath of a dragon or something else that seems like a last-minute add on. Poor Jojo, at least he looked like he was having a good time!

That definitely looks more amusing than most school plays, though…

What in the world was the teacher thinking??? Did the story have some sort of message?
Wow. That Santa is the most “unique” one I’ve ever laid eyes on. Isn’t it strange how Jojo thought him to be “funny”? You’re right…everything is in each individuals perception.
Maybe that explains the teacher. She just “perceived” things differently.
