When Jojo had his first birthday, we bought him a little plastic ride-on “motorcycle”.
Here is baby Jojo with his shiny, new trike:

Three years have passed, and the tropical climate has not been kind to the little trike. The sun has faded her once-vibrant colors, the back axle malfunctioned long ago so that one of the wheels doesn’t turn but rather drags along, and no one will confess to being the adult who was too big to sit on the seat but did so anyway:

In stereotypical second-child fashion, 13-month-old Deeds has not yet been given a trike of his own. But that doesn’t stop him:

Baby Deeds doesn’t sit around lamenting the state of his beater of a trike! On the contrary! Deedsy lives in the moment! He takes the bull by the horns! Deeds’ picture is right next to “Joie de vivre” in the dictionary. If it is a French dictionary, I guess.

You are an inspiration, little Deeds!

Armed with a bottle of baby-safe insect repellent and a tricycle with a dragging back wheel and no seat, Deeds scoots happily hither and yon, under the laundry:

And beyond:

He works up a sweat, but never quenches his appetite for exploration.
And, Deeds brakes for bananas:

Wow, he looks a lot like his older brother did as a baby. I love the photos of the indomitable Deeds on his epic travels, he is entirely too cute! Oh, and my Pudding Pie brakes for bananas too!

Awww.. he is too cute!
Let’s hope he retains that never give up spirit, come what may attitude as he gets older.
Or, let’s hope some sponsor will decide that baby needs a new trike! I was going to say that if it were me, I’d stuff a pillow in that empty spot but I guess he’s pretty padded alternatively!

What a sweet little peanut. I love that he brakes for bananas, (and not banana peels!)
It just goes to show you that kids see things in a different way. Where an adult would see a run down trike, a kid would find a fun toy. It’s a common observation, but we all have seen when kids prefer the box a present came in to the present itself. i love how they view the world differently than big people.

Ah, I love the age when every toy is a treasure, whether it’s perfect or not doesn’t matter. To bad we grow out of that stage, huh?
Thanks for stopping by!
