Have you seen the new Jizo and Chibi collection of holistic jewelry by designer Valerie Johns?
Pieces range from $50 to $200 in gold vermeil and sterling silver.
Planning to travel this summer?
The Jizo Jewelry Collection is all about Jizo, the protector and guide of women, children, and travelers.
The Chibi Jewely Collection features Chibi, the Japanese word for small child – or little one – when worn as jewelry creates a sense of calm.
Here is Chibi, the little one, riding along a chain to take on all sorts of expressions: up and engaged, lying down to rest and flipping upside-down. Little ones love to go upside-down; yoga people, too. Sometimes we all feel upside-down even if nobody knows it.
Chibi is soothing, playful, and can be mischievous – like a child…or your inner child.
I was sent the little Chibi in silver, only 1/2? tall, and $50.
I couldn’t pass on Chibi…I work with 3 and 4 year olds every day. They keep me young at heart and remind me not to take myself – or anything else (except stickers) too seriously.
I think little Chibi is a cute size that would work for a child to wear (Deeds loves necklaces) or for people like myself who stick to understated accessories.
You can also get a Jizo and Chibi book, Jizo and Chibi art, and other stuff, like hand puppets.
Valerie Johns keeps a fun and inspirational Jizo and Chibi blog as well!
Thank you, Jizo and Chibi, for providing a sample product to introduce me to you both.

I think the Chibi figure is cute and would be a decoration as jewelry. I do have a problem with idols and using objects as “protection”. I am a believer in and a follower of Jesus Christ. Jesus teaches me to “Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind.” One of God’s commandments is to not have any idols or love anything more than Him. Some people might think this jewelry is harmless, but I must speak out.
