For Your Budding Scientist

Founded by a Harvard-trained scientist and mother of five, The Young Scientists Club offers complete kits for children ages 5 and older.

I am extremely enthusiastic about these kits! Jojo has said many times that he wants to be a scientist (his motives are transforming himself into a super hero), and he likes doing “experiments”.

For Jojo, I chose the Science on a Gardening Adventure Kit; I have my own garden that I don’t want him to experiment in, so I’m glad that he can have his own gardening dominion!

In this cool kit, you get to make a terrarium, learn about underground habitats, explore the different parts of plants, test the soil, design a mini-garden, grow all kinds of seeds, perform plant experiments, identify bugs and their habitats, make a working sun dial, and other inspiring tasks.
I like the cute mini- garden tools and watering can, but clearly they belong to Jojo now!

Science on a Gardening Adventure Kit is $29.99; I think it would be an impressive gift!

Magic School Bus Going Green Experiment Kit is only $19.99, and lets your resident scientist recreate the water cycle, build a compost tube, shrink plastic, magically make packing peanuts disappear, decompose food with fungus, form pulp, create new paper, design recycled paper shapes, learn about the 3 R’s, and much, much more!

Need something a little messier? Magic School Bus Diving into Slime, Gel and Goop Experiment Kit ($19.99) lets you experiment with oobleck, produce glue from milk, grow jiggly marbles, make snow from super-absorbent crystals, form a bouncy ball, create slime, expand super-absorbent gel crystals, melt fake snow, learn about polymers, and other stuff! The kit includes extra gels, super-absorbent crystals, and marbles to repeat the fun!

Visit the award-winning The Young Scientists Club to learn about the dozens of other experiment kits available!

The Science on a Gardening Adventure Kit is featured in the Mom Most Traveled Holiday Gift Guide 2009!

i’ve been a fan of this company for a while now — and am really impressed by the wide range of kits they offer. my eldest son has become obsessed with “space” lately (and i suspect the idea of aliens has alot to do with it). i’d love to try the Star Pilot kit for him — so he could appreciate astronomy and the science behind his interest. great giveaway — my thanks!
