Best Book Club Ever!

6/11/09 Update: Apparently this company is out of business now!

We have all been there: roped into a mail order “CD club” or “book club of the month club” that traps you into spending lots of money on stuff you don’t really want.

Parents; help is on the way! There is a new children’s book club in town, and it is like nothing you have ever seen before!

Excite Books brings your child the thrill of receiving an unexpected package in the mail, filled with brand new, grade level books every month.

You can keep the books for as long as you like (forever, if you want), or, months later, you can donate your books to children in need.
Excite Books includes pre-paid/pre-addressed envelopes in each shipment of new books in order to make donation simple and convenient.

It’s a win-win business model for adults, children and communities in need.

“Excite Books is not your average book company,” explains Austin George, a commercial airline pilot, motivational speaker and founder of the online site. “We are members of the community who strive to add excitement and energy into your child’s reading activities. Through Excite Books, kids are an active participant in all phases of learning and development through responsibility, motivation and giving back to the community.”

The concept is completely original.

You can order a monthly subscription online for one, two or three books to be shipped to a child.

A teacher certified and age appropriate book is chosen and mailed at an affordable $4.99.

Send two books a month at $9.99 or three books for $14.99. Shipping and handling is always the same low $4.95, no matter how big the package.

The idea of children donating their gently used books came to George when he visited a second grade classroom for Career Day. He was appalled to notice there were no books on the bookshelves. Moved to action, he spent the next day searching for donations from local bookstores and libraries for a new teacher’s classroom library he decided to create.

Through ExciteBooks, even more children can be given access to books, helping to instill a life long love of reading!

An introductory “Free Trial” includes 3 Excite Books, 1 Educational Activity, and 8 free gifts.

For the free trial, you only pay the $4.95 shipping charge.

You can select the appropriate reading level, choosing from infant, toddler, kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, or teen, as well as cookbooks and puzzle books for all ages.

I signed up for Jojo to receive a free trial of kindergarten level books.

In our initial shipment, we received 102 Dalmatians, The Emperor’s New Groove, and Disney Year Book, 2008.
Jojo is drawn to colorful books like these, staring familiar characters.

I wish there was a “mommy preview” feature at Excitebooks that would allow me to see what titles we will receive next!

With each book shipment, your child can collect reading completion stickers to chart her accomplishments on a Reading Progress Calendar, free from ExciteBooks.

After Excite Books has shipped a total of 12 books to one address, a prepaid / preaddressed envelope is mailed for a child to donate none, some, or all of his Excite Books to a library in need.
Excite Books finds recipients, arranges for the donations and spreads the joy of reading to a new group of youngsters.

Excitebooks requires no commitments or contracts and offers a money-back guarantee!

Mom Most Traveled readers! If you would like to start a subscription to ExciteBooks, I have a special coupon code for you!
You can get a bonus fourth book by entering the words “4th Book Free” in the Personalized Message field when you submit your order!
You can also type a personalized note for your child, and they will be sure to remove the “4th Book Free” phrase from your note!

Would you like to win a shipment of books from ExciteBooks.com?

One winner will receive 3 books in the reading level of their choice and 8 free gifts from ExciteBooks!

*Congrats to Kimberly!*
