Back in the 1980’s, children’s tv programing didn’t nessicarily have to be educational. At all. Pure entertainment was the goal.
I distinctly remember watching Super Mario Brothers Super Show! and being a bit puzzled by the cartoon AND live action “rapping Mario” scenes. What the…
It was with great nostalgia that I received a copy of Super Mario Brothers Super Show!: Off The Map for review.
There are several episodes on Super Mario Brothers Super Show!: Off The Map. The plots are quite, uh, deep *snicker*.

In Bad Rap, King Koopa (the supa dupa!) kidnaps the King of Rapland where everyone speaks in rap rhyme. The rapping Marios to save the day. I wish them the best.
Too Hot to Handle involves an imprisoned Fire God of Lavalava Land.  Princess Toadstool is in danger of being sacrificed to the local volcano!
The creative titles of the other episodes kind of speak for themselves: Mighty McMario and the Pot of Gold, and Elvin Lives (about music king Elvin Parsley), Crocodile Mario…all classics that time forgot!

Remember?

Don’t fight that feeling anymore! Super Mario Brothers Super Show!: Off The Map is only $6.99 on Amazon, or you can shop at NCircle Entertainment.com.

Not to be outdone, Sonic the Hedgehog, of Sega video gaming fame, also had his own Saturday morning cartoon way back when.
Adventures Of Sonic The Hedgehog: Robots Attack! is now available on DVD! For $6.99 you get 4 episodes totaling 88 glorious minutes of Sonic nostalgia.
As my own child has demonstrated Adventures Of Sonic The Hedgehog: Robots Attack! and Super Mario Brothers Super Show!: Off The Map have found fans amongst preschoolers, tweens, and grown-up children’ of the 80’s!
