Don’t Leave Home Without the Hyland’s!

The first time I flew overseas with a baby, I was terrified. Little Jojo was a mere 7 weeks old, and I was a frazzled, sleep deprived, shell of a mom.

Jojo cried a lot, pretty much any time he wasn’t nursing! How could I fly 16 hours with a baby like that?

Desperately, I asked around for suggestions from veteran parents whom I knew I could trust. One friend, a former nurse, told me about a product that I had never heard of before called Hyland’s Teething Tablets.

She said that the Teething Tablets were an all natural, homeopathic remedy that can be used to help babies relax when they are in pain from teething.

Since air travel often causes ear pain, especially in infants, my nurse friends recommended that I bring along some Hyland’s Teething Tablets. Since chamomilla (from chamomile) is one of the main ingredients, I felt confident in giving these even to my baby. I had read before about the idea of giving babies a weak chamomile tea or a chamomile bath to help them relax when affected by colic or teething.

I never had cause to use Hyland’s Teething Tablets on Jojo’s maiden voyage, but I absolutely swear by their effectiveness for calming a baby-freak out!

Jojo was a “high-needs baby”. In this case, “high-needs” is a nice way of saying, “always crying whenever he was not being nursed or held”. One night, when Jojo was 8-months-old, I got brave and allowed my mom to babysit while I went out and did something exciting, like go to a book store. While I was gone, Jojo woke up and Nana was amazed at how he went from temper tantrum to tranquility once she gave him a dose of Hyland’s Teething Tablets!

Hyland’s Teething Tablets are tiny, tiny little pills that dissolve almost instantly on baby’s tongue. They are easy and not traumatic to administer!

For babies who suffer from colic, Hyland’s Colic Tablets offer ttemporary relief of symptoms of colic and gas pains caused by irritating food, feeding to quickly, swallowing air and similar conditions during teething, colds and other minor upset periods in children.

PLEASE give the gift of Hyland’s Teething Tablets and Hyland’s Colic Tablets to every new mother you know! These should be standard baby shower blessings!

After seeing how well Hyland’s does homeopathic teething remedies, I was excited to learn that Hyland’s has safe, natural homeopathic remedies for the entire family!

Hyland’s develops homeopathic formulas with the highest quality natural ingredients following the strictest standards for preparation. With a century of commitment to homeopathy, Hyland’s tradition of excellence consistently provides quality and integrity in every homeopathic product.

I tried Calm’s Forte, a non-habit forming homeopathic relief for nervous tension and sleeplessness! It works so well for me, that I have also started to use Calms Forte 4 Kids for my little ones, mostly when we have traveled to a different time zone and I am trying to get my children adjusted to the change. This medicine is designed to safely and effectively counteract mental and physical restlessness in children.

For travel, I have the Hyland’s Kid’s Kit. I LOVE this kit. I use it several times a month and have taken it all over the world!

It contains the six remedies most popular in treating childhood illness from earaches to nosebleeds. The kit also contains Bumps’ n Bruises Ointment to help with bruising and inflammation from falls.

I have used Bumps’n Bruises Ointment on MANY a goose-egg when Deed’s takes a tumble!

All of the pills are the same size, shape, and color as the Hyland’s Teething Tablets, so do pay attention to the labels so you can be confident you are giving your child the correct remedy.

I think this is a plus, because my children already know and like the Teething Tablets, they have always been very open to taking other Hyland’s remedies.

A guide in the kit helps you to find a remedy by symptom. I have used these for fevers, headaches, runny nose, sore throat, and I even use the Arnica Montana 30x (for muscular soreness due to overexertion) for when Jojo complains of what I call “growing pains” in his legs.

For home, I have the Hyland’s Homeopathic Remedy Chest. I expect this to last us for years! I have been using it for about 18 months and haven’t run out of any of the remedies yet.

The Hyland’s Remedy Chest contains a carefully chosen set of 29 unique homeopathic medicines (plus an extra bottle of Arnica Montana) that apply to the widest range of everyday ailments, from coughs and colds to headaches and nervous tension.
And, every Hyland’s Remedy Chest also includes an extensive homeopathic reference guide to all the remedies contained in the chest and the symptoms they address.

There have been MANY times I have been so thankful to have the Hyland’s Remedy Chest on hand, such as when Deeds got stung by a wasp! I quickly looked up the remedy for “stings”, and as soon as I put the two tablets in his mouth, he immediately stopped crying!

Both of my children seem to know that the Hyland’s remedies are going to make them feel better, and they anticipate the relief as soon as they see me pull out the bottle!

I’m happy that giving them medicine isn’t a Battle Royale, and I feel confident knowing that I have so many great remedies at my fingertips!

Many Hyland’s products are available at chain drug stores (like CVS), big box stores with pharmacies (like Wal-Mart), and at online retailers (like www.vitacost.com, where I got my Remedy Chest).

Where were you when I was looking for ideas for sponsors? I would have contacted them - I completely didn’t think of it! We LOVE the teething tablets. THEY REALLY WORK!

I bought these after our email corresponding about teething and they do seem to work. Soren is less cranky after taking them. I love that you can get them at your local drugstore, but I didn’t realize they had big kits too. I’m definitely going to get one of those and also get some tablets for my friend who just had a baby.

It’s funny how our boys seem identical in temperament, crying when not being held or nursed. It’s nice to have another mom to relate to!
