While it isn’t likely that I will be taking lessons in a dance studio any time soon, or even wearing a leotard, I am excited about my two new DVD’s I was sent for review: Dancing with the Stars: Dance Off the Pounds and Dancing with the Stars: Dance Body Tone.
Dancing with the Stars: Dance Off the Pounds is lots of fun as it teaches you full dance routines to get your heart rate pumping.
You learn swing, jive, and quickstep routines, and have a cool down as well.
Dancing with the Stars: Dance Off the Pounds is about $8 on Amazon and a refreshing change from the traditional aerobic fitness DVD workout.
Dancing with the Stars: Dance Body Tone is not as step-by-step as Dance Off The Pounds, so you might find yourself pausing and rewinding.
The first section has a Latin theme, teaching Rhumba, Cha Cha and Merengue moves. The second section is Tango, and lastly you get “Freestyle” (my specialty). All together Dancing with the Stars: Dance Body Tone is a 50 minutes workout, available on Amazon for $8.

I was a dancer for 20 yrs and then I got a job and had to find other ways to exercise. I walk, ride bikes and I do go to the gym evey now and again. 10 yrs ago I developed DVT and well that put a damper on some activities but I still keep active.

I bike to work and back (only 10 mins each way), and also go to weekly classes offered by my university. A mix of toning, yoga, and intervals.

Last year I exercised regularly … this year I’ve been a slug. So it’s time to start again and one of these DVDs would be great. Normally I either walk for an hour or I jump on my mini-trampoline for at least 30 minutes.

I’m pregnant…due soon! So I’ve cut my routine back to walking for now. Before that I’d hit the gym…use weights, treadmill, bike. I’d like to incorporate more outdoor and creative activities into my routine like I have in the past!

I didn’t exercise and now I’m 80-100 lbs overweight (the horror!!) I’ve started doing the Wii Fit which have been fun. I also plan to bellydance and have a DVD called Core Rhythm that’s fun so I’ll be doing those a lot too.

Now that I’m 6 months pregnant, I try to get out and take a long walk a few times a week. I also do a light weights program 5 times a week with my husband. Also, does house work count??

My current workout routine is severely lacking! During the summer I was doing really good taking regular walks with the family (we have miles of wonderful trails to walk) but we have not be doing that lately due to the snow and the trails are now busy with snowmobiles. So I haven’t been doing much and really need to for my health and well being! Thank you for the wonderful giveaway!

I bicycle (mornings) and walk (evenings) for 1/2 to 1 hour about six days a week. My favorite ride is to the local McDonalds on Sunday, about 4 miles round trip, for an iced coffee and the Sunday newspaper. They donate a portion of the news sales to Ronald McDonald house, so it’s a little win for them, exercise and a treat for me.

I currently exercise as I’m working on a complete remodel of my yard! I’ve ripped out all the lawn, and am hauling 30 pound blocks up 10 stairs and about 50-100′ and building raised beds for fruit trees and vegetable gardens. I also get to haul wheelbarrow loads of dirt to fill the new beds. Phew! I’d love to be able to dance too!
